Thats the problem, I have contacted them, been waiting here for 2 days now. And people on here wonder why I post bugs/issues on here instead of sending them email. You should have come here first dude. Uninstall WindowBlinds and reinstall it via SDC. All will be fine. Read through this entire thread and it'll make sense.

Some of the things you've mentioned seem to be caused by the fact that the skins you're using weren't designed "For Vista". They were designed for XP and since Vista is very different in layout some things won't be perfect. Only way to change this is to wait on the new skins built for Vista specifically. I have a feeling that once WB5.5 is final (holding my breath for next week) more devs will probably go back and update their "popular" skins to work with Vista as well.
Most people don't use CMD. Most people dig per-pixel windows. There was a conflict. Per-pixel won. It's not a major issue. It's not a major issue in terms of functionality. It IS a major issue with it comes to "completeness" of skinning. Not skinning an app is like "half-assing" something. It just shows a shortcomming. I just don't understand why it's so difficult to skin the command prompt, but not any other app known to man. Crap, Vista doe
Ok, if you say so. RC and BETA versions so far have been 5.49(x)b. The version available for download was clearly 5.5.x.x. Even so, the file the server was handing out wasn't even a mislabled 5.49 (RC or BETA)... it was the 5.1 download. Whatever, I'm not going to keep arguing about it... BTW, is command prompt skinning in XP a "major issue" as you put it?
The forums really shouldn't be the place for rants like this. Emails to support and private emails to stardock are the place for this type of thing. The forums are for community support and friendship. It's worth the investment. While I agree wholeheartedly with this one other thing is also true. If people complain directly to a company in "private" correspondence about a problem it will more then likely stay that way... quiet and unresolved.
Well it's a beta version. If you can't handle the heat, don't use beta versions. And stop whining, wait for the release version. IT's CALLED A BETA FOR A REASON!!!!!!! DONT LIKE HAVING PROBLEMS USE THE OLD VERSION THATS WHY SDC KEEPS IT THERE.... You guys or gals have reading comprehension skill problems. I complained about SD not testing stuff before release because the VERSION NUMBER WAS
Well, it's finally back to normal function (SDC that is). It's finally not reporting any new version available. Didn't change a thing... didn't renew xmls (did this previously several times). Only thing that changed was 4 hours past... no reboots, no nothing. Checked the forums and then checked SDC again. Didn't state there was a new version. Meh... As for Zubaz's post above... who cares man. Every one of my threads has me bitching about a shotcoming of something that ties to thi
Last word...
I try to help you. If that doesn't work, open a ticket here. Have a good weekend. What exactly are you trying to help me with? I don't have an issue with getting WB5.1 installed back after SDC hosed my setup this morning with the "Ghost" version of 5.5.017. I've reinstalled WB5.1 since then without any issues. My gripes are still with SDC (StarDockCentral) not working properly. TO FIX THIS, SD MUST FIX THE SERVERS THAT ARE HANDING THE INCORRECT INF
This is now resolved but because of how SDC works, the 5.1 build will be showing as 5.5 in SDC if you had previously seen it unless the XML gets refreshed on your pc. Incorrect. I've refreshed XML defs and Servers... didn't change. Still shows 5.50.017 as available update since I have 5.10 running. Also uninstalled and reinstalled (yes, the directory was deleted) SDC with same results. SD PHAILED in resolution of this problem. Have
Hello, I installed WindowBlinds 5.10.xxx without any problem today. No sh**, so did I from my WB51 download in email. Thanks for stating the obvious. What's your point, because obviously you don't get what I am stating?
Hello, Try this solution: Okay, the solution is (under Windows XP): - Backup all custom themes - Uninstall WindowBlinds via Stardock Central (choose to delete all themes). - Reboot - Delete this folder: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds - Flush all files and folders located here: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Local Settings\Temp - Open Stardock Central - Go to Tools --> Settings --> Inter
Perhaps if you check things out more "thoroughly" you will find this problem to be resolved. Haha... I just downloaded the "latest" SDC from your link and low and behold... wow, it's the same version as what I had before (because updates to SDC come in when you start SDC if there is one available. It's the same version as stated in my previous post and guess what? It still shows the new 5.50.017 as an available update. The 5.50.017 shows
Download and install the updated SDC and version 5.50.017 will not be there. Version 5.49t (beta) is the latest release and is working fine. I'm running the latest build (based on the fact that SDC always prompts to get updated if there's a new version that comes out... are you saying that this isn't working either? What's new?) The version info on my SDC is 2.38.436 build: 139 is this the latest or not according to what version you are showin
someone needs to close your trap You want to TRY and be the one Games_Master...? Shut the hell up now, mmmmkay?
Darken, the problem is not solved. SDC still shows version 5.50.017 when you have 5.10 installed. And installing a 5.49t (BETA version) is not a fix. *Update* Just to clear this up for "closed minded people" since I know it'll come up. If you CLEAR your checkmark to "Show Pre-Release" version you'll see what I mean about the 5.50.017 version still being shown on SDC. If you have Show Pre-Release checked it will show you the BETA version. This is what I meant above when I said I
Deskscapes is ultimate edition specific. Exactly... and even then, who wants a product that takes 50% CPU utilization to make your background animated. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THE CAPABILITY, but not if I have to deal with 40-50% or sometimes even higher CPU utilization. Remember folks that some people have laptops and while my laptop can run these features all day long, the battery cannot. So this type of utilization is killing us with battery po
It's not fixed yet... I don't understand why this is so difficult for SD to solve this. You guys have had 9 hours to solve this. Either put the right version of the download on SDC or get rid of the "new version available" for 5.50.017. How hard can this be? God dang it people!!!! BTW, SDC is downloading a wb5.sdc file when you tell it to install the 5.50.017. Asking your service to email me a link to the new version of 5.5 does the same thing... it sends me a link to the 5.10 ver
Is this fixed yet on SDC servers or not? I'm getting tired of installing and uninstalling.
Yep, you read it right. Even when you go to Stardock's Windowblinds page and request an email for the latest version it's handing out 5.10_Enhanced instead of 5.5. Hell of a Friday huh?
When is this going to be fixed?!?!?!?!?!?! Make some calls Neil! If I were you I'd be ranting and raging through the office. I'd make the idiot that made this mistake beg for his life... *note* The above is a joke for those of you who can't read "Sarcasm".
Right above is a valid example of things not working right. Your forms don't even work right!!! Large text overlaps because the spacing is wrong. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Admin edit to remove huge text. Please add this to the Forum bug post. Using huge text there as an example would be acceptable.]
Rock the house Stardock!!!! This bs is also happening to me as well. Just a question since I alwasy anoy the hack out of everyone on here anyway. Why can't you guys just test stuff out before you release it? Or better yet, why can't you just get it right the first time?!?!&g
No current version of WB works in 64bit Vista!!!! Everyone clear now? Good...
Do you know of a place to download it? Or will that be too big? Microsoft is doing Windows Marketplace for certain programs. At the moment, you can download a legit copy of Vista Upgrade from places like Circuit City (a US based store). If you have a credit card, I'm sure you can go online and buy it that way. Then download it and use it. Vista is one of the first MS based OSs to be offered in such a way. I'm surprised some of the know-it-alls on th
