Freelancer was indeed a fairly good looking game for it's time. It's time being 2003 and even at that point it was operating on an outdated engine. It had plenty of other problems too. But a fun game all in all. 2003 was also a time when DX9 was just introduced. It's also the year when nvidia had their entire DX8/DX9 debacle. In which old DX8 cards where never able to live up to expectations (worked horribly with DX9 games) and where quikly replaced by DX9 supporting cards. I think the

I think there's actually a fairly simple sollution to this problem, it does however require a UI change. Instead of just listing the amount of population just list both the total population but add a number that displays the amount of taxpayers/soldiers. You could just list a fixed percentage of population as soldiers. For example: The planet Earth: Pop: 40.000.000.000 / amount of soldiers/taxpayers 12.000.000.000. I was playing on a huge map with 6 other players. There where about 4 minor races. The story just got even stranger, it happend again only this time it lasted for 4 turns, during these turns my approval went from +70 to -81 to +1 and then back to normal. It also saw the creation of a splinter empire because 4 of my colonies revolted at the same time and started their own little empire. Greets

This has happend twice in the game i'm playing right now since updating the game to 1.0x. After I capture a planet the game grants me total influence over the entire map for one or two turns. A dregin planet way on the other side of the galaxy flipped over to me, long before I even met them. I have made a safe with the bug in effect so if anybody from Stardock is interested just let me know. Greets,
