I have to reafirm the opinion on the business model, imo cd protection doesn't really stop priacy and when you are trying to target the audience for pc strat games, it's not like they aren't tech savvy in the first place... I mean I would argue that at a university level many people have experience first hand acquiring media/lincensed material in a less than legimate reason. The main reason why I purchases this game is that I was able to participate in the Beta and that it actually l
Wow that's some of the best looking models I seen so far. Speaking of which, is there away to export the models you make in the game designer and share it with other ppl? thanks and keep up the good work!
PC owns strategy games hands down, the only compeition I can think of is PSII esque rqg strat games ie: Final fantasy tactics. Combine that with a great AI and you got your self a winner. One of the main reasons I get bored with strat games is that the AI don't really put up a challenge unless you give them some kind of external benefit. And honestly, games of this style is alot likely to appeal to mature customers who have disposable income to spend as opposed to broke teenagers who might go to
thanks for the hard work and rapid response, this degree of user support is something that I have not yet seen in the software industry. keep up the hard work and if you guys want to go public, I'll got some friends in I-Banking that can help you out, j/k. Bo
just asking, are you guys planning to release an update today too or is that waiting monday? thanks Bo
And yes I am aware of the one slider in the create a new game screen that says create anomlies. But does that refer to space junk or hrandom events in general?
Just out of curiosity, is there anyway to adjust the amount of random events that occurs during the game? Do I need to change a value in some text file to accomplish this or is it gonna be added on as a slider in later bonus packs? thanks Bo
well I fear for companies all across the world as the plague known as GC II is unleashed. Prepare the vaccines or alteast a addiction support network or something.
interesting, because I didn't see any pop ups right after good and evil and I was expecting one to show up, hopefully it will work in my next game I guess. I will try to update to the latest version .80a.002 and see ifit works or not. thanks Bo
Hi All, I have a few questions in regards to the ethics and government choices in GalCiv2. More specifically, how do you actually pick a moral pathto follow or insitute a change of government. I have already researched "good & evil" along with the first government tech, it was "something republic" but I have not discovered a way to actually pick a moral path or change my government away from imperialism. It's there a in game menu or something where I can change my governme
thanks, I think I had my starbase right next to my planet so the constructor ship ended up being produced right no top of it. But I think I fixed that problem now. Bo
Hi all, Been playing this game for a day so far. I have to say it's refreshing to play a game where diplomacy actually matters. but anyways, I was trying to upgrade my starbases with modules but when I click on my starbases the upgrade button is grayed out. Does anyone know if this feature has been implemented yet? Thanks Bo
hmm Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6525 Driver Date: 3/22/2005 21:01:17 DirectX Acceleration Enabled: Yes I thought my drivers were last updated on 3/22/2005 but anyways, thanks for the feedback. Oddly enough, the game now works, only in windowed mode tho. So I guess I have to stick to playing in that mode for now. I haven't experienced the slowdowns other people are talking about in windowed mode and I have been playing a game on the large map.

Hi all, I tried to post ealier but for some odd reason it didn't show up. So here goes another try. I bought GalCiv2 yesterday and downloaded it last night. Tried first to start it up, left the graphics alone, and all I got was a black screen (and I could alter the black screen's size by change resolution on the config app). I then tried downloading the graphics pack, still get a just a black screen. I then tried to click on the "Activate" icon, except that nothing seems to happen, as far a
