launch attcks against the aggresor, make an alliance with your neighbours. giving them tech and ships improves your relations with them. dunno about teh corvettes but the Rangers are attributed to luck. As a lucky race i end up with 4 or 5 rangers by the mid to late game.

Talsworthy. It is arrogance to think that your opinion alone represents some portion of the universe. well really if you shoudl be checking that screen fairly often because the more you interact with the races the better your chances are at winning on higher difficulty levels. However i have never encountered a case where i was all of a sudden at war without notice. I have had an occasion where i loaded a saved game where i was at war when i saved and when i loaded the game i was at peace.

i had 3 in 20 turns one game hehe unfortunately everyone was beam weapon so i had to escort them with a bunch of other vessels and always made sure they were on the offensive

MOIISKA the AI sees you and the other AIs as teh same. It gives no preference to the other AIs. Maybe the other AIs are just spending more time talking to each other/.

downloaded and installed the 1.0X.009 I researched and choose good alignment and researched arnorian battle armor. Now according to the description it provides better defence but is more expensive.
