Now if only somebody'd invent solar powered repellents for religious doorknockers and door to door sales people.... cos apparently, we're not allowed to keep saltwater crocs in our driveways/front gardens.
Answer the door naked lol. Actually i answer the door fully clothed and they still run away throwing holy water over their shoulders :P
Nimbin
May 22nd. Roof trusses to go on tomorrow morning.
Seriously, it is coming together nicely and beginning to take shape for you, Nimbin, though there's not nuch yard left now the slab's down. Yeah, I know, you're gonna say "but all the less there is to mow and weed out, not to mention less expense on mower fuel and fertiliser.".
Hiya Starkers. Lol actually there will be absolutely no grass what so ever, the entire yar
Now is the time you find out how good the concreter was...do they fit?
Lol. They should fit. Every week of delay will cost em $500 and if they have problems with the frameswork etc then they will not make the deadline :P
The framework being erected.
The builders have given us a completion date of November 4th. Every week they go over that they have to pay us $500 lol. Plus the land was resurveyed and it turns out the back of the block from the middle to the left corner is smaller by 1.3 meters over what it should be, So who ever put up the fencing fracked up and gave the land behind us an extra meter. I don't think it's worth doing anything about but my partner is on the warpath and wants the original fencer to fix it lol. I am s
Well we now have a slab :) Things are happening so fast, It's hard to keep up. <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xta1/v/t1.0-9/11061280_101528
just received an email telling me i had a new skin comment, but all i get in the actual email is this.... #body# Any ideas?. :)
All ready for the concrete to be poured. Well once the insulation and rebar reinforcement is placed. Should be done by tomorrow afternoon. :)
And the Threadmaster said "Arise oh necrothread" and so it arose :P
Today the build started. Photos here of the block being cleared and levelled. After that the concrete slab will be staked, formed and poured in the next week. More photos as the build progresses :)
and the dark angel said "Arise oh necrothread" and it arose :P
Got a long way to go to keep up with the last house I drew....80 squares...
80 Squares, bloody hell. Thats not a house thats a factory lol. But thanks for the info Jafo. It is going to be a huge house but we did add a section for my partners father. he will have his own little living area, bathroom and bedroom.
Ok after a slight delay by the purchaser settlement has gone through and all the financial dealings have finished, The cheques have been paid and the permits have been pulled for the building to start. build time is 177 days and will start on May 1st. Had a little issue with some rogue tradesman dumping soil and building debris on the land we purchased but we had a stakeout and caught him in the act, Got his registration and business name (which he stupidly was using his business truck for th
Strange...........I thought Fosters would have been the most popular in oz but maybe I'm way behind the times..........
LOL. I can't remember the last time i even saw Fosters for sale in a bottleshop or Pub. They probably still do but it is not, has never been and will never be a very popular beer in Australia. Quite frankly it's terrible beer. :P . VB would easily be the most popular here
the estimated start date is early april. and we hope... hope... hope to be in by christmas. Not moving in until everything is done, including landscaping etc etc. i will post pictures as the slab is finished, framing, brickwork, roofing and other. Its all very exciting
Lol. I couldn't believe the amount of people who turned up. All up there were 26 bidders and 74 bids made. I have been given permission to give the amount. We got $742,500 on a 10% deposit and 30 day settlement. It's so physically and emotionally draining :-)
Well the auction is over. Needless to say we got everything we wanted and more. Unfortunately I can't disclose the amount yet or who bought it due to some stupid confidentiality crap. But I can say if you read my original post we got between the first and second amounts. Very happy indeed :-)
Today's the day. Our house in Melbourne is going under the hammer at 11am. We have 42 confirmed bidders registered and expect about 100 - 150 people to turn up all together. So far 14 groups have had engineers and builders go through the house to give quote on renovations and building to prospective owners. We are very excited and just a little sad to see this house go but it will enable us to build our dream home in Bendigo and live mortgage free and debt free. I'll let you all know
Maybe if the price of an entire suite of skins it to much, the Master could offer just the WB Skin as a separate purchase and then the whole lot for another. Seems that may make everyone happy. I am absolutely not against a skinner charging for their work if they have attained the rank of master. But in my case the extra skins being offered in the suites are for programs i don't have installed. Sysmetrix, Xion etc etc. I only have Windowblinds and iconpackager installed so i don't rea
Well today we went to the GJ Gardner fit out centre and chose our outside bricks, Feature wall bricks, Wet area tiles (bathroom, dunnies etc), Flooring (antique brown bamboo), Bathroom appliances, Kitchen fit out style, Carpet and roofing, Guttering and other outside styles. We got an all clear from our block of land with the soil testing and everything is right to go. Hopefully the build should start within the next 3 months. Our house in Melbourne goes under the hammer in early March and ju
Well my Partner and I have taken the plunge and bought a block of land and will be building our dream home. At the moment we are in the planning stage with a reputable builder. For those Aussies it's GJ Gardner Homes. We are auctioning the house in Melbourne in March so the proceeds from that will be more than enough to cover the entire costs for our new abode. So far in 2 open days there have been 68 groups of people gone through the house, 10 of those have requested engineering reports
Try running an application called Hijack This. It will scan the system including Browsers and let you know all about any Addons that have infiltrated Browsers. Be careful before removing things though because the program makes no distinction between what is good or bad, It just scans the computer and generates a list of Addons, Browser hijacks (Of which some are legitimate). And if in doubt you can submit the results to the Hijack This forums for some expert advice on what is what and what ca
Windowblinds 8.09 does not fix the problem with the title bar in thunderbird 34
The Max / Min / Close buttons are invisible no matter what skin is applied, but this also happens on the default thunderbird skin, i am sure it is more a thunderbird issue rather than WB itself. This also happened on TB 33 and an update fixed it, broke again when TB went to version 34
