But I cannot accept "well I could buy it ...but I dun wanna, I've got new x-men figures to buy.(or whatever)" Those people are scum I would have to say thats a load of rubbish Ocatavius. The people who are scum and ruining the market are the crappy developers (if they can be given such a professional title) that churn out total crap which an in

Again, to re-state obvious examples: In one turn, you will gain 200,000 or 400,000 new taxpayers per planet (based on approval rating). It is unreasonable to suppose that over a week, that many new taxpayers would be found. Elections seem to occur every 12 weeks, or at least they occur more frequently than every 52 weeks. This makes no sense (especially since

I think there must be an issue with the numbers you are putting in. I played with 8 points (whatever percentage that is) in PQ ability a couple of games ago and it certainly worked, all my newly colonised planets received a PQ boost and workable tiles. Perhaps try a lower number.

All of these tests are based on the hypothesis that the AI didn't see the planets. To validate that test it is claimed that the player saw ALL of their scouts. It is flawed. Sorry but that's the simple fact, there is just no way you can prove that you saw everything at all times. You can't "see" what their scouts saw. Further to that, yes, the AI can see all planets and send a constructor straight at a planet.... it's got Stellar Cartography. Once you have got Stellar Cartography you can do the

Great cheers! ..... So I can just keep the modified version of the GC2Types.xml backed up then rename it when I want it back again? Cool! Thanks Kryo - great mod!

I installed it and had a play around and want to say that it's a fantastic idea Kryo and well implemented even if the tabs are a bit of a pain. My question is though: How do I uninstall it? At present, I have only played with Humans and Yor extensively so I dont want to spoil myself for choices too early.... if you see what I mean? Once I've played all the races enough to know all the hulls and design layouts, I will definitely reinstall this addition, but for now, I want vanilla back! <img sr

Just chucking in some empirical obersation from in my most recent game. The Torians were on a course for a planet they had definitely seen (they had a colony in that system) I took it the turn before.... that same turn, my scout picked up a PQ 26 planet literally a few tiles south of my new planet, in another system. The Torians, although I fully expected them to b-line to that planet, actually turned tail and went back a few sectors (about 8 game turns) and took a PQ 6 equally far f

At normal, you should be able to massively out-colonise the AI. Go on a spending spree buying Colonisers and grabbing planets as you see them. Buy on the first turn, then buy ships every other turn so you save the inital purchase cost. Redesign your ships on the fly if you dont already have stock designs. Dont spend time making them pretty, just whack engines on them and send them out, you can just delete them once you have the next propulsion tech (Or design a series of colony ships for your fa

While I agree with the main point that tech trading needs to be looked into, I really dont agree with you Reckert sometimes it happens at a really bad time in the game when I'm trying to fend off the Dread Lords or a race wants to trade with me as it's getting pounded real bad by the Dread Lords, yet they have time to shop and trade with me? ..... then a turn later are wip

another cool feature that I would like to see is planet rotation around the stars like 57 turns for earth around the sun While it would look cool, I forsee horrible problems ocurring here as your planet smashes through your economy starbase, your defending fleet of ships and all the freighters get to their destination and metaphorically scra

I finally beat my first Gigantic map playing as Terrans.... I had a lot of colonies.... a lot! Final total count of Rangers was 27.... I clearly remember losing 2 of them which means I definitely found 29 in 1 game! They were all Mass Driver attack and defense which was nice considering I was using missiles with a smattering of beam weapons. The AI didn't have a chance against them - the only 2 I lost w

I researched plasma weapons at like 10weeks. Then I Plasma II came up and it only took 6 weeks. Research seems to carry over. Once you complete a tech, you will notice that the next tech in the line is automatically selected - if you look in the research bar you will see some of it filled already. I managed to research 2 earlier techs in 1 tur

Yeah, it's true Armando..... in the game I was referring to (since then I have had another 3-4 Rangers!!) I have chosen the Luck +25% ability! Pretty overpowered for such a small amount of point if this is what it does!

I am about 9/10 through a gigantic map with all races. In all honesty I have an absolutely ridiculous amount of these rangers! I had 3 in a row on consecutive turns. I didn't count last night when I went to bed, but my guess is that I have around 15 of them! Two fleets with 4 of them in (their logistic requirement needs to be increased!). A number of other races all have them too! At first I assumed it was because my military rating was low so the game was helping me out.... but later in the gam

I managed to flip a Yor planet tonight..... it took a LONG time though with a nearby planet specialising in Embassies and an Influence Starbase smack bang on their doorstep with 250ish rating. They are very difficult to flip though!

I tend to find that the original anomalies are visible, but ones that spawn later are not visible. The workround is just to set your Survey ship on Auto-Survey. Not the perfect answer, but it helps until they fix this problem

If you press printscreen it captures the screenshot into memory (this is a windows feature, you can use it in any program). If you do nothing else, it'll be lost whenever you copy to the clipboard next. In order to save your screenshot you need to open a graphics program such as windows paint, and select the paste option then save the resulting image. <br

In a recent campaign game the Altarians brought a constructor into my sector and dropped a starbase in the next parsec to one of my starbases. It was right in the middle of my sector, so it was definitely not in another sector. This has happened a number of times so it seems that the AI doesn't need to follow the Navigational rule of 3 parsec spaces between Starbases. I did take a screenshot but I havent managed to locate where the hell it went yet <img src="smiles/Laugh.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a

One thing I did notice (having played it a number of times) if you take any of those worlds to the west of your starting sector, the Dreadlords will go take them off you.... but after that they never seem to bother going for your initial sector. If you don't take any of those planets, you always seem to get a constant stream of Troop Transports, fleets of fighters and the ocassional battleship come marching into your initial sector. It seems to work like a decoy.

1) Take a new Constructor to the Starbase and choose your upgrade 2) One fleet at a time. If they could all attack at the same time, the'd all be in the same fleet and there wouldn't be much point to the logistics ability. Unless you mean, can you select them all then attack and have them all go in one by one - I'm pretty sure you can do that by highlighting the fleets together then moving - but they'll all move one at a time anyway 3) One transport at a time. You can redes

tzqng8tzqng8 's strategy worked for me. I was also having a nightmare on this level... went all the way down to cakewalk and was still getting creamed within a few turns. You start with a few initial constructors, take those and your initial coloniser and head for the system south east of the Yor. Once you reach your max range, use a constructor to drop a starbase and continue on. Grab that planet, build up a little, get a couple of factories and a starbase and crank out some defensiv

I have 2 main questions at the moment. 1) Same as above: Ok i pre-ordered the game months and months ago. when you could first pre order infact, and it doestn give me any options in stardock for the extra content? Where can we go to get our Pre-Order extra content? 2) This may well be a silly question but I can't find

I'm also got a pb with my mouse ... after a while the cursor disappeared, and impossible to get around this pb ... I needed to reboot my PC in order to restore the mouse .... Same problem here. Mouse cursor froze although I could still move the screen around. Tabbed to desktop and the cursor was still frozen there. Reboot cleared it.
