I apologize if you thought that was an insult. I didn't say you were a bad player. I simply said that the other player employed a flawed strategy that left him with no viable tactical options based on your description of his actions. And it's absolutely true. By spamming one type of ship exclusively, he invested his entire economy in a force that wasn't giving himself a winning tactical option. You exploited that flaw by building a force that gave you enough tact

I agree with Harada's point. I'd go further and say that, actually, EVERY race should be outspending its opponents. In terms of a simple choice, having the economic capacity to outspend your opponent is always preferable to outspending less, just as spending wisely is always preferable to spending poorly. Tactical options should inform the strategy, but strategy should dictate the tactical option selected. You build ships to kill other ships, but you build fleets to
What were you doing on your side ?
This is an important question. Oh thank God it's not just me, I guess. Misery loves company. Alienware laptop, 32 bit vista, 2 nVidia GeForce 7950 GTXs, drivers up to date. If I'm patient holding down ctrl/alt/del I can get back out to open task manager, and have verified the game is running. Not only that, I can then alt tab back in and everything will be working again. Until the problem repeats itself.<br

I had problems downloading off of Stardock but I figured out what the problem was right before I left for work--but I did get through all the tutorials and a couple of skirmishes on a small map first, so I'm definitely pleased. But being able to get my brother the game he's wait his whole adult life for as a birthday present is way better than any game. :)

I bought my brother a copy of Sins for his birthday as a digital download, primarily because I forgot to get him something until it was too late to stick a package in the mail. He had been saying how much he wanted to find a good real-time space strategy game because he can't remember one he really felt involved in since, like, Imperium Galactica. So I figured, what the hell, this has multiplayer, graphics are good, it looks like it'll be okay. He just sent me the following text messag
