I meant no offense. I just deal with a lot of people who can't see the connection between buying whatever they want and not having enough to pay for necessities. It's a blind spot I with people find frustrating, and I was venting. I'm sorry if I offended you. [quote who="XWerewolfX" reply="9" id="3528939"] But yeah, thanks for the unsolicited advice. If the minors are allowed to grow and expand, it would change a big dynamic of the game. Now, not only are you racing against the doomsday counter, you effectively have to have a conquest victory just to prevent the minors from defeating the SK before you do. Sort of like LH where you have to defeat the other factions to prevent them from building the towers and casting the spell of making. Besides, there is very little settleable land anyway SK is a different ki

[quote who="Chibiabos" reply="6" id="3528425"] Devs walking and talking like salesmen won't impress us, we want content, we want playability, we want flexibility, we want a sim that we can start with a humble building and through our decisions and planning, make something grand. I really enjoyed SC2K, 3k was OK, but after that it was a death spiral. What's really sad, is that the next most popular city builder Cities XL/XXL is so oversimplified and dumbed down, it can't even compare favorably to SC2k, except, maybe graphic-wise.

If you have to wait until payday to pay for a game, maybe you should use that money for something else. Food, rent, utilities, retirement savings, etc. Yea, it's none of my business, but I hate seeing people spend money on luxuries they really can't afford. Just because you have the money in hand to pay for something, doesn't necessarily mean you can afford it... Rant over. <span styl

Thanks for posting that. The marketing copy I saw only mentioned PvP. Personally, I'm not a big fan of linear campaigns. 25 is a lot, but once you play them, that's it. But man, the idea of building up a bad ass tank is cool. [quote who="Rhonin_the_wizard" reply="29" id="3527778"] Story Campaign 25 single-player campaign missions Uncover t

In SK, the best ones to use are those that can deliver the most damage to monsters without the sovereign's assistance (A vital trait in the early game). Good examples would be Tandis and the dwarf hero of the tinkerer. Frankly I think all except the cleric sovereign's hero are good to start with.

I think part of the problem is that developers have become dependent on Steam to the point where they have all effectively become Tools of Steam. Not too long ago, I posted an issue I had with a Steam feature. One of the mods here piped in and repeatedly tried very hard to paint my complaint as completely unreasonable, even though a number of SD regulars agreed with my position. So, it would seem that Steam has so much power in the industry, that even SD is afraid to say anyth
