Familysharing is a nice feature Valve implemented. Somebody else can use your account when you're not. Simultaneously though I have to take Valves side here. You got one license for a game, not two. Now your son gets to experience Steam Sales [e digicons]:D[/e] The Christmas sale starts in 5 days. Time to teach him how it works [e digicons]:)[/e]
I never said I wanted
of course, you could then ask why digital distribution ain't cheaper than physical media.. outside of nutty sales (provided the physical media ain't just a disc for steamworks/uplay/origin, etc)
This brings up a good point. Just what is the value of a game? The answer of course is "whatever the market will bear". Clearly value for games is very flexible. Why else would a developer be

I haven't received the new computer yet. Ill definitely let everyone know what happens when I set it up. You made a number of excellent points! Thanks!
Quoting Borg999, reply 11 Yea, I hope you're right.

Here's another idea. How about allowing someone to transfer a license to another person. Person A transfers the license to person B. Person A can no longer play the game, but person B to whom the license was transferred, can. Of course, now that the media is digital rather than physical, the person who purchased the game doesn't actually own one copy of it.
I don't believe it's ever been mentioned that it was made to play games from 1 library at the same time by multiple people. To me, it sounds like you want it to be something different than it is and are blaming Valve that it isn't. *shrug* Do you see where publishers/developers would lose money if everybody just started sharing accounts and nobody was paying for the games they played anymore?
I don't see anything wrong with it.
Yea, I don't expect anyone at SD to say anything negative about Steam. Biting the hand that feeds you, and such. I was just hoping I could play SD games without being limited by their draconian Family Share restrictions.
That specific question you refer to (which I had quoted for a reason...) seems to apply to the 2nd Steam account (Not the Main one, with the games): "Yes. You must be online to access and play games which are shared with you " Doesn't say the 1st/Main account needs to be online though.
Yea, I hope you're right.
Can't you have the Family Shared computer online to meet the requirements and the other computer offline to play an offline game (e.g. FE:LH)? Or is the Family Shared library not available if the main account isn't logged in?
If I'm reading the FAQ right, I believe you have to be online. I find this to be a strange requirement. You have to be logged into Steam for your family

So, I'm getting my son a computer, and I was planning on setting up his own account, and using the Family Share option so he could play the games that I bought on my account for him to play (because we only had one computer) This Family share thing sounds great except, we can't play at the same time. Even if we want to play different games, only one person can access the library and play a game, and the other person is completely locked out. So, obviously this po

I've only played the game for about 2 hours, and a good chunk of that time was in the tutorial. All I can say right now is that I wish developers could find a happy medium between too few options and too many options.
Limiting playing options is not a good idea, because not everyone is going to want to start playing as the wizard (or what ever the default choice may be). Different people, different playing styles. Limiting that choice is a bad idea as it will reduce the number of people interested in playing the game.

The shadow world spell can be unlocked on the Tyrants ability tree, and it's all the way at the end of one branch. I chose shadow world in the skill tree, but couldn't find it in my spell book. So, as far as I can tell, it's acquired like other spells..that is, there is a random chance that it will show up as one of the spells you can learn upon level-up. I disagree with this approach for spells that are unlocked specifically via the skill tree. IMO, they s
