Unfortunately, you have to research the specs on the cards. Case in point: I had an NVidia GT 120, which came out after the superior 9800. By looking at the specs it was obvious that the GT120 was merely a rebranded 9500. And the 9500 was inferior to the 8800. The only way to know was by looking at the specs. This also means doing research to know what each specification is and why it is important. [/q

With CPU's it's always been obvious. An i7 is stronger than an i5 which is stronger than an i3 which is stronger than a Pentium which is stronger than a 486 which is stronger than a 386 which is stronger than a 286, etc.... But graphics cards seem to have no such obvious indicator. I've been told that RAM doesn't matter much with a graphics card, so how do you tell which is stronger? I signed up years ago for my son's boyscout troop, but almost never used it. I hear a lot more people say they don't use it than those who say they do use it. Even my step sister and sister in law who were heavy users a number of years ago, almost never use it anymore. Which makes me wonder who is still using it....

How can you expect that collection of feathered lounge lizards to build an effective meteor deflecting system with nails like they had? Blame it on their stars, the shooting star that hit what we call the Yucatan pinusala - it killed all the jumbo dinos. SO the dinos are innocent! If they hadn't died off, mammals would never have gotten the opportunity to evolve into humans, and no one would be around to have caused it (or not have caused it). [e digicons][/e]
If you believe "Godwin's Law" in any way asserts the one to draw the analogy automatically loses or that the law dictates the thread must then be closed, you have adopted a twisted re-interpretation analogous to Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution twisted into the plutocratic "social Darwinism."
