OK, I know this idea may sound corny to many but I have decided to make my own "corny" mod called "Return of the CheroKai" Cherokai is pronounced "chair - o - chi". I have started the first few models and will post in the future when I am happy with them. The basic prem

TFL, good point. I did not mean to imply I wanted just the game ship graphics...really just any old basic model to take a look at. The link you provided is perfect. I am disecting the ships in Blender and carrara pro now and have some ideas on my first ship. i will post something up when i have some models. Again...thanks again.
Thanks for the file info. Thats useful info. I will keep trying to find some samples. I did not realize it would be so difficult but people are busy I guess. In any event, I would still appreciate something in the aforementioned file types if someone can spare the model/time. Thanks!
can anyone help me out?
Would anyone be willing to share with me a basic ship or ships you have used in your mod so I can tinker with it in Blender? I am looking for something in .obj or the like so I can try my hand at exporting to xsi format and then into the mesh file for use in the game. I am not a skilled 3d model maker here so I need some very basic vanilla ships so I can "practice".
ZJBDragon worded this much better than I. He is correct. Thanks for the clarification. :)
Dude, I did read the manual and did see the 3Dmax info but I guess I was hoping that I did not have to have 3Dmax to import an existing mesh. 3Dmax handles several different file formats as do other graphic apps so I was hoping there was some sort of conversion to a .obj file, etc. but I suppose I do not have the correct apps. Anyway...I appreciate the info. I will just mod the data files and not worry about new models.
Come on guys...show me some love. Is there anything out there to explain how to import and export models in the game or is this just common knowledge?
I am new at modding...just really wanting to tinker but I do not know how to convert the mesh files into my model program of choice. i have carrera 6 and blender. can someone offer some advice on how to convert or open the models in one of these programs?
This may be silly but I would really like to name my fleets.
yep...press PAUSE.
1. Slower battle speed option 2. change pirate count down to a random time or do not show the count down. I end up watching the timer and can pretty much guarantee winning the bid as long as I have the cash. 3. basic fleet formations...battles look like a little league soccer game (everybody bunches toward the ball) biggest area in need of help is diplomacy (pirates included) IMO so I will hold on my other suggestions when talking about a new version, add-on etc. <br
I was up so late on Saturday, my wife accused me of looking at porno. I told her "no, but I was sinning". :)
I have played the game now for about an hour...just getting into it really and enjoy it so far...for the most part. I will have to defer to the wisdom of the game designers and beta testers but my initial impression is that: 1. pirates attack too ofter (I have not tried to actually out bid any bounties so maybe I am just getting beat up on by the other AI players) 2. Game speed, even after i turn it to slow is a little too hurried for me. I know I can pause the game and issu
I need some help from anyone who can share. I love Gal Civ II and other strategy games but the game I really want to play just does not exist and i am tired of waiting for it. As a result, i have decided to start down the long path of learning how to create my own game. This will be a huge project in that I do not program and really have very little experience in 3d art. However, I have time and really look forward to actually creating something of my own...regardless of how my first tries r
I thought that at first but after getting into it for awhile, over 80 turns, I am starting to see that it may be worth it. I would love to get some feed back from more people out there and see what the general feeling is.
Hi all. Just checking to see if anyone has heard of a game in development called Sword of the Stars? Looks to be pretty interesting. It includes real time Home World-like fleet battles with turn based 4x type gaming. Any opinions on this game yet? I think the demo comes out on 7-25
My 14 day trial is about to end. I have had fun so far but have had no contact with any real people yet. I am almost afraid to since I am such a weak player that I could be destroyed in a heart beat. I think I will pay for one month and see how it goes.
Aggiekev, Worst I have been in so far is a .4. I fly a Frigate at the moment and am trying to convert it to a stealth missle ship. This looks like it will take some time but my goal is to do covert ops type stuff and perhpas find a good corp should they need my services.
Frumph...you have a deal!!! Thanks!
Has anyone here played a game called Eve online? I have been playing for a few days and I must say it is a great experience. It can get quite detailed and involved but if you want the feeling of unending space and want to carve out your own little part in it...this is it. It has actually taken time away from my Gal Civ II playing time!
Geeze...I can't get past Challenging on all settings set to random and AI intensive moves. I am such a wimp!!! Challenging is enough for me. I get over-run by mid game. My ships are always better but I can not keep up with the economy and planet grab in the beginning. I may try tough just to see how bad I get beat up.
I guess no one likes this idea.
I would like to suggest, if it is not too late since there are already two new races in the expansion, that a contest be held where people can describe in some sort of essay their custom race. The winner gets to have his or her race to the expansion.
While some people have valid concerns not to include Tactical Combat of which some I can very well understand, I think a lot of people are chronic nay sayers. If the world would turn accordin to them, we still would live in the stone age because every improvement might disturb the balance. People: Be open to new things, sometimes stuff that appaers odd turn out to be
