Hey, I'm no expert with soundcards. I use the Nvidia sound chip in my AMD mobo and it sounds great to me. Curious though...do you have to disable onboard sound in bios in order to use a soundcard? It's been ages for me since I've set one up.
If pc people didn't rush out and buy consoles they wouldn't have so much power of what gets released. I haven't bought a console yet and don't plan to. If the game isn't out on PC then it's one I don't have to spend money on. End of story. Of course they want to promote Vista, it's one of the ways they do things. I had a single planet as the next nearest neighbor to the Arcean. Other than that, they did have a border with the Drengin (2 planets), myself 3 other planets and the map edge. So I suppose they could have felt cornered by the Drengin. The single planet I had near them wasn't much of a powerhouse so maybe that had something to do with it. Is it based on influence or is it really random?
I can't believe this. I am playing a sandbox game where the Drengin have off and on been attacking the Arceans. I have been trading with the Arcean's and have given them numerous ships to help them fight off the evil Drengin empire. I am on friendly terms with the Arcean's and have been working to forge an alliance with them since the beginning and now they say: "Our war is lost". They then surrender everything to the Drengin.
You may have a point there about the AI. I like the idea of it taking up lots of space. Perhaps it would mean your ship runs without much if any Armor or other defensive items. Of course, if Stardock does come out with a multiplayer addon, you know having cloaking in there would be fun.

Or maybe there should be an "Anti-cloacking" technology line with various levels. Sort of like missle vs. missle defense. This would mean that cloaking effectiveness would be dependant on how much anti-cloaking you are up against. If the Anti-cloaking is equal or greater than the level of Cloaking being used the ships are visible. If Cloaking level is higher than Anti-cloak then the range at which the sensors would pick up the ship is reduced. Maybe math says it better: <

Be aware that if you make the 3000M troop transports as suggested by Mascrinthus (they work really well, I do it) that you need a good sized planet to build more than one. I did the same thing buying using a different email than what I set up my Stardock account. I updated my email here to match the one I used for my purchase.
Sweet weasels, I've got the CE content! I haven't been notifed and my trouble tickets are still open however, I was reading in another post and somebody said they created a character in the Metaverse and where able to download the CE content from there. Trolls don't know how to read very well so they probably thought GC2 was a RTS or FPS. The good thing about a turn base game is that you can pause to go fight with the trolls if you really want to. I think you were missing the "Planetary Invasion" technology when you couldn't take over the planet.
Bitobah, I signed up with stardock initially using a hotmail account. Later on I made my pre-order using my isp email. I know this because I have the reply emails from my order. Additionally, when I use Stardock Central/ Tools/ Look up Serial Number and try both of the emails involved only one of them comes back with a serial number and that is my isp account. Just an update - I realized that I had set up my Stardock.net account using a different email address than the one I used for the Pre-order. I have since updated my email address on my .net account so that they now match. Unfortunately I am still unable to register and get the CE stuff. Using any of the serial numbers emailed to me I get (depending on which box I enter): Error 3: Serial Number Is Not Registered To This Account Error 12: Invalid Collecto

One thing to think about is that they are two very different style games. I have downloaded and played the SW:EAW demo just last week so I do know how the basics of that game works now. It's pretty much like Command & Conquor or Starcraft. It's a Real Time Strategy game where you build units and take over territory. There is the added dimension of space combat which is pretty much like the ground combat of said games. It does have multiplayer so you can play against your friends if y
