I've had few CTDs, but i do sometimes get a strange problem when I quit the game (solution: DO NOT quit the game ) that requires me to restart. Oh well, maybe it's just my smarmy 256mb of ddr333 at fault here.

I want Mars to have terraforming squares, but it doesn't
Again, sorry if this has been discussed, but I can't find any other threads on this, so please post links if I am spamming. Thank you. So I had one game where this one minor race completely conquered the Torians, ending up with 7 or so worlds, and one of the biggest fleets on the map! This was thanks largely to the frigate hull tech i conveniently supplied them with Anyway, does it ever happen, some kind of flag or something,
My apologies if this has already come up a number of times, but how do you turn on planetary ai governors?? Not that it isn't fun in the beginning, but manually zoning every single planet gets to be kind of a drag in my fifth or sixth game. I do see the option to 'auto-upgrade' and that is cool, thank you, but where is auto-zoning? I mean, the AI players can do it, right? So why can't I just flip a switch and have the AI do mine too? edit: Sometimes the planets don't sh
And you should also be aware of the 'upgrade all' option, so you're not clicking on every single ship like a jackass
Great news! I'm very glad it's been selling so much better than you guys expected!
I was going to say you could try turning your monitor on, but then you had to ruin my fun by posting details of your problem
It's certainly better than a game that resets your desktop resolution to 1024x768 EVERY DAMN time you start it up, and doesn't change it back. More construtively, I used to play an old game called Stratosphere that did the same mouse cursor thing you guys are reporting. What I used to do to fix it was open up the Mouse Properties on the Control Panel, and switch to the Pointers tab before starting the game up. When you exit the game and find your pointer gone, just click
Oh, oops, post in wrong topic. Carry on, and if you are a mod feel free to erase away.
Why don't you just make it into an archive and post it on megaupload or rapidshare? That's assuming it's ok to post it, which I secretly hope it is
Wow, fantastic preview... *drools* Only a few more days left! However, I did notice a small spelling mistake on one of the screenies. On the detailed planet view of Earth, the opinion window has the guy saying "the habitability level (or something) make's all the difference." It should be "makes," not "make's." Sorry for being the spelling nazi guy and pointing this out <img src="smiles/Wink.gif" bord
Homeworld style! (psst) I support your crusade, maccca.
'Lan gaming centre' sounds more hardcore than the yuppie-ie 'internet cafe' Dr. J, it is a place with a bunch of pretty good computers hooked up into a local area network for purposes of multiplayer gaming. You can do that sort of thing at home, only on a smaller scale (2+ machines)
I thought X-Com Apocalypse was ok, but my fondest memories have to be with UFOD. Apoc was mostly good in the beginning, though I did lose interest maybe 2/3 of the way through it. I've never played 'Interceptor' or whatever it was called. You guys are extremely right, I would pre-order a UFOD remake so hard, if anyone ever announced it.
I always thought the 'gin' was like in 'begin,' and not like the alcoholic bevv'ridge. I got used to it during the length of the extremely awesome video, however. More, please
I don't know about the manual, but I can't help laughing whenever I read the text on that one screenshot of the pokemon random event.
*punches god-damn spam bot in the stomach* *turns to the others* You all know this is an advertising spam bot, right?
I read in another thread that all ships have a minimum of 1 strategic movement, so you don't really *need* to put engines on them, right? If that is the case, it makes monitor ships a lot more useful (i.e. more weapons) If i understand correctly, that's what the "battleaxe" and "defender" classes essentially are, right? Even without those you can have kick ass planetary defences with starbases! I read in yet another thread of a tactic involving building pretty lousy ships w
I call sour grapes But really, who *else* are you going to brag to? Only internet people have nothing better to do than listen to how crazy awesome the system you just built is. Nobody else is going to understand you when you put the sunglasses on your smiley and start posting if your computer is good enough to run a game in random forums. Apropos, I'm in love http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr2_pc2_6400_gold
If you just download the full game, what in the Hells do you need the physical copy that you ordered for?
*sings unsteadily, obviously drunk* A Drengin crewman is a soaring soul, as free as a winged swamp xorg.
Hehe. I figure one of the privileges that comes with owning a great system is the right to brag about it once per forum. More than that might be a little excessive, I think Besides, you get all kinds of idears for upgrading your own system out of these kinds of threads. At least I do.
"I've already caught 80 out of 128 wildlife creatures!"
I think what he means is a starbase that is self-sufficient and has shipyard facilities, etc. that make it function sort of like a planet? That might be kind of cool, actually, but you'd have to restrict population size *severely,* or just have it act like a colony with only the initial colony dome in place, and no space for expanding, with modules giving small bonuses. Maybe in some kind of future mod...
You should prolly go with another at least 256mb of RAM, 512 if you can afford it. As far as I know, it's not really that expensive, with 512 being around $50 or something? Just don't eat for a month, or eat pidgeons. Fashion a bow and arrow out of what furniture you have sitting around and go hunting. For the card, you might want to go for at least a 128mb one, which I've seen for $30, so you might only need to give up food for a single week or two weeks, depending on how big you are
