Are you running in windowed mode? I had a problem in windowed mode with the apparent (displayed) mouse position being about an inch above where the program thought it should be. Running in full-screen mode took care of it, of course.

Hi, Sorry to ask what may turn out to be a silly question. The population will generally return to normal fairly quickly, but I've heard of people winning instant influence victories, experiencing massive economic fluctuations, etc etc. I once had a rebellion take half of my empire the turn after this bug hit me. A bit startling.

I drop my taxes and get my approval 90% (for a turn) but I still don't win the vote. That's probably because you've lost control of the senate. You're going to have to get your approval back up (around 70% should do it) and then wait for an election. Once that's happened and your party is back in power you ought to be able to win any votes.

This may sound like a silly question, but you have gone into the ship design area and designed some of your own ships, right? The game comes loaded with a few standard ship designs, but if you want to have any sort of fleet, you've got to design your own ships, really. That's where you get to glue your mass drivers & armour onto the medium sized hulls. Of course if you've designed ships of your own and they aren't showin

I've actually noticed this too. I chalked it up to coincidence, but I remain somewhat dubious. Perhaps it's just due to heightened expectations. When you colonize a level 8 and get some nice bonuses it's a pleasant surprise. When you colonize a 24 and get no bonuses, there's a natural let-down once you realize that you haven't found the planet that's going to let you waltz through the game with a grin on your face.
