Played another game. Same settings but this time everyone was set as allies to me and alliance victory turned off. None of the three AIs broke the alliance or declared war and I was trading techs and doing well in economics until being culturally defeated by the Terrans. I was playing in a tiny galaxy in suicidal mode (just messing around) as the Yor. One thing I do is right before you click turn zoom back in to on of the default views. Or even zoom in on empty space. And the turns will go buy alot better. That's exactly what I discovered today. Zooming in in empty spaces speed up things considerably.

Gigantic maps get slower in my system but far from unplayable. And it only happens from mid to end games, with almost all planets colonized and loads of fleets flying everywhere.

About autosurvey, sometimes my scouts turn off the autosurvey mode while there is still anomalies in the map. Sometimes it happens when there is a anomaly right at its side.

Mr. frogboy I'd like to point that the topic "download woes" has loads of people waiting for an answer of the devs about why the SDC software doesn't resume downloads or fails to extract the files.
