CariElf, I tried the servers at Chicago, California and 4. My latest SDC build is 117, version 2.29a. I managed to download the Multimedia package after some tries but it stopped there. The error log was always 19 - Connection closed by the server and 1 - Extraction error. for some reason the download just keep restarting over and over again My biggest frustration is that I managed to download much bigger files in the past. I think I'll just follow the advice from Citizen T

Hello again, Adragal. First, have you checked this thread: Link It has useful tips for trying different servers and answers some common issues. As with all things computer, it does help to be as specific as possible as to error messages and such. Have you tried the download again today? I know yesterday would have been quite busy. M

Hmm I've made an edit to my post above and I can't see the changes. But if I click the edit again, I can see it Same here. That's why the post above repeats what I said after editing my reply.

My problem is quite simple: the download does not resume after some server hiccup. It's VERY frustrating to download a monster file of 551MB up to 76% just to lost it all and having it start from beginning over and over again. This happens even with the smaller ~100 MB.

Having issues since Preloading week. Strange the support not having records of my emails since I sent them and I did not receive any error messages. Most of my posts where located in the now unstickied woes posts and in posts of people with similar problems. My problem is quite simple: the download did not resume after some server hiccup. It's damn frustrating to download a monster file of 551MB to 76% and lost it all and having it start from beginning over and over again.

Well, after having all my forum posts and requests for help since the last week simply ignored by Stardock while some other people get two or even three devs helping them (maybe sucking it up helps but that's not for me) I'll just ask for a refund from the sales dept. and forget this whole thing. I think I was expecting too much from what I thought to be a much better game company.

I really would like to see a dev talking about this no-resuming problem but it seems they are purposefully ignoring all topics talking about WTF THE DOWNLOAD DOESN'T RESUME... Come on, if this SDC is just a download manager why it works like a crappy housework project when compared to Getright that never loses a download? Why it don't use CRC or any basic tech to assure the download is not going to be lost or corrupted? I'll never going to use your crappy SDC anymore. It si

What annoys me is that the "error 19 connection closed by the server" (why the server closes the connection by the way?) seems to destroy the file already dowloaded and the damn thing restarts from the beginning from 0%. Getright almost never loses a download. I have lost 3GB of discarded partial files already. In a 256KBPS connection that is a lot of time lost.

I don't know if it is possible but can you Stardock people make smaller packages (100 MB) of the Movies and Tutorials. It would help people with crappy connections and avoid people taxing the servers because their 551 MB downloads keeps failing and starting again!

Now I lost the download due to a server error. Wasn't the file supposed to resume? -- [Installation] --------------------------------------------------- Download: C:\Arquivos de programas\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2_Multimedia.xml 1 Load: C:\Arquivos de programas\Stardock\SDCentral\data

Yes, just now it finished downloading the mutimedia package gc2_Multimedia.sdc file and failed installing it. I was wrong about the downloading. The SDC manages to download the files but it fails to install the package and restart downloading the file from the server again from the beginning. I don't understand how it managed to install the main file (the game) but is failing to install the movies, tutorials and multimedia. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align

I found this error log in the dir you pointed Drew3077, thanks. Maybe the Stardock people can figure it out: -- [Installation] --------------------------------------------------- Download: C:\Arquivos de programas\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2_Movies.xml 1 Load: C:\Arquivos de programas\Stardock\SDCentral\data\public\gc2\production\gc2_Movies.xml 1 Download: C:\DOCUME~1\User\CONFIG~1\Temp\sdcentral\gc2_Mov

I managed to download the main game without problem but I failed to download the Movies package (551 MB) twice. I have the latest build of the SDC (2.29a.374, build: 117), my conection speed is 256 KBPs (no better option in the frickin hellhole where I live). My problems: #1 - Download speed is a fraction of what my conection can do and it varies wildly: the best it can do is 25KB/s and the SDC is downloading at 7KB/s at best. Som

If the Terrans had good relations with the Drengin, it would be stupid of them to attack and risk being conquered. But they would be conquered anyway maybe it was worthy to risk it. Nothing to lose if are going to become a "humanburger" in some Drengin version of the McDonald's.

The AI players will do what's in their own interest. But from the map above it seems that the humans are absolutely unable to resist a Drengin invasion. Too few systems. Unless the humans were in a covert alliance with the Drengin all the time.

Wow that was alot of fun to read! I can imagine hundreds of people reading the bit where Bill dies..... BILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! Or maybe not. Ahem. Seriously though doing such a good journal entry so close to release is borderline sadism; is there anyone here who doesn't want this title more now than they did before they looked at thi

I think the human AI decision to not make an alliance with Altaria was a bad one. The Drengin was in position to destroy both Humans and Korx at the end of the game. And if the Torians surrendered to the Altarians instead of the Drengins when they did, it would probably result in a different war history. Not wanting to nitpick but maybe the AI is still lacking in the alliance-surrender part. Otherwise it was a great reading and very fun too. <img src="smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
