Good article. I agree, more people should review the medications they are taking. I liken this article to your Custom Lasik review. Too bad one of the medication's side-effects isn't compulsive podcasting...

Liberal viewpoints are generally based on emotion. That's why one of the guys in that tread brought up puking children and working 60 hours a week. That is an emotional picture. They also got very angry and attacked Brad. Once again, this is sheer emotion. When I look at political problems, I try to be a problem solver and that is what I look for most in a politician. Someone who over simplifies ends up thinking things like "We need more gover

Another point can be made that if they really wanted to expand their perspective or change people's minds, they would express their views in a mixed forum instead of in a 'sheltered' forum. It's easy to be a proud alcoholic in the company of other alcoholics.

The question is: Do you want to allocate more power the the government or to the citizens? Everyone will make their own decisions, but the more you study history and economic performance, the more you'll answer "the citizens".

I don't think he has made much of a positive impact anywhere. I like that he appointed good supreme court justices and his tax cuts, but that's about it. Don't like his stance on immigration. He's too stubborn about the war. He refuses to veto useless spending, which allows congress (republican or democratic) to spend like drunken sailors. I wish he'd work on deregulating the schools (vouchers) and supporting domestic alternative

shadesofgrey: I'm marking it down as my next book to read. I've read rich dad poor dad which was pretty good but broad. I'm not spamming but I get over 5% from emigrantdirect.com. Electronic transfers, no min balance and no other limits that I have run into. Worth a look.

I'm 23 and got my first 'real job' out of college last year. My wife and I have < $5k of debts (student loan) and should have that payed off in a couple of months. We're saving in an online savings account (emigrantdirect.com ~ 5.05% APR). We 're contributing the max to our 401k's that will get matched by our employers. I know very little about the 401k money goes and how it's invested. I know what you say in the article is true and it makes me want to

I am certainly no expert, but I wanted to point out that it's good you have a good enough relationship with your son's dad to talk to him. I don't know the status of your marriage, but some couples don't speak at all. I think you're up to the task and had a very appropriate answer, but I think it's very reassuring to know that you can talk to the father and get his viewpoint. You're not alone.

I think your argument makes perfect sense and I agree. The FairTax bill deals with how taxes are collected as opposed to how they are spent. For example: The FairTax would eliminate the death tax (a form of income redistribution), eliminate the capital gains taxes (interest earned from investments would be tax-free), and give people more control over how much they are taxed. The current system also puts American companies at a disadvantage. Another example is that th

I am not the kind of person to spoon-feed a concept to people. But for those who know anything about economics and taxes may find the FairTax bill appealing. I recently listened to the audiobook 'The FairTax Book'(available on the iTunes Store by the way). The basic concept is to replace today's current income tax system with a consumption tax. One concept that might peak some interest to the common person is that corporations DO NOT pay taxes. The corporate taxes are passed off t
