I have something similar now, a Korath fleet wants to attack a planet of mine, but the game just hangs. The turn button is actually gone. I tried saving & reloading, but to no avail. I have a debug.err and a quicksave. Let me read that other thread first lol.

All in all, the debug.err is 2776 lines, 1584 are "Debug Message: Out of sample handles." and 294 "Debug Message: Unallocated Mem: 8 bytes of memory from line 1130 of .\Source\editfields.cpp". I've made a copy of the debug.err, if anyone is interested.

I got the bug again, this time I saved, alt-tabbed to check the debug.err, alt tab back in, saved and quit the game. I'll post some snippets of the log here: Debug Message: Version v1.80f Twilight of the Arnor beta 3b last updated on: Thu Dec 6 11:50:39 2007 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. I continously pick of single orbiting ship with my own ships. But after I attack them (and I succeed) the game just hangs, and my ship turns to auto-pilot. Then I can't click a planet, but I can double-click it. The only "fix" so far is a quick save followed by a quickload. Anyone else have this problem, or how I can remedy it?

It seems to me that Pirate fleets consist of tiny, small and/or medium hulls. If you can build fleets with shields and/or railguns/missiles you shouldn't be in a bad situation. You can even use the Pirates then, let them eat away your enemies defenses . The AI declaring war on me was just stupid. Maybe if there was a mega-event where you get 1000+ ships I would've been in trouble. But I once read

So I've played a nice and interesting game . On a large map, against the Krynn Consulate, Yor, Altarian Resistance and the Drath (all set on challenging). I've played with my own custom race, based on the Thalan (Super Hive!). I decided to go the war path, so I choose the war party for it's bonuses. I got a nice claim on some "normal" planets. Then I rushed to toxic and heavy gravity planets, whi

Being able to terraform PQ 0 planets would be a bit too much. You would get several hundred of planets on a large/huge map (let alone the gigantic map). A mining station like in Stars! would be neat though, atleast a PQ 0 planet has some use then, since now they only clutter your minimap. And if you want more planets, try abundant stars, adundant planets and abundant habitale planets on a gigantic map <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi

I'm playing on Intelligent atm. Not the Arceans, nor the Iconian have built more then 2 (perhaps a single planet had 3) factories. Most factories or on planets with bonusses on them. So yes, imo the AI doesn't really focus on production. They just build lots of cultural buildings. If I was the AI, and my planets would become takenover, I would use my production to build ships to get rid of those influence generators... But that's just me <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s

Tick of research, influence and diplomatic victory. The game should be a tad more interesting. Currently I am playing on a large map with the AI on intelligent. All AI's build decent fleets with matches weapons/defenses, so it it's really easy to win a conquest victory.

I wanted to upgrade an economy starbase in a sector, but I couldn't find it... After some searching I found out that the starbase had turned invisible (for me at least). I made a screenshot (external link, Brinkster is pretty crappy): Link . I hovered the mouse over the starbase, but as you can see there is nothing to see .

(wryly) When I'm trying to get constructors from one end of a map to another to build up recently conquered territories, or to build offensive military starbases, I don't want to wait 30 turns for my ships to get there. Devs, any words on this? First real painful bug I've found, and I hope it wouldn't be too hard to fix. I'm not a programmer though, so please forgive me i
