Well, I'm back. Something screwy was going on and I was locked out of the forums for a while. It kept saying that there was something wrong with my account and it didn't recognize the password. Then, I go away for a while and- poof, I 'm back in. Anyway, I tried the DreamLand skin and it seemed fine- only one minor issue with Yahoo, but it seemed to clear up. So apparantly, there's no problem with transparent skins per se. <

Well, I suppose there might be a new driver for my graphics card. I always hesitate to make an upgrade unless there's a problem. Besides, the Arrow theme was acting strange...slowing down the system, too. And it was the only skin doing that. Hmm...I can check with Radeon to see if there is a new driver available, though.

I have had some trouble with Mike Bryant's "Arrow" pseudo-Vista WB skin. I don't think the problem is with Window Blinds itself, as I have applied other skins and not encountered the problems I've had with Arrow. I had to reboot my computer several times just to get it to skin everything properly. Even then, some menus (like in IE) looked black and impossible to read, others were fine. It seemed to be random. Also, this is the only s

I have instructed WB to increase skin fonts by 20%, which works fine (I prefer larger text on the menus). However, I notice that text on some buttons is cut off. Is there a way to control the size of the button font independently of the menu font? For an example of what this looks like, here's a URL: BTW- I noticed that even using the default font size

Hmm...I tried the link to the shareware and I got the right page, but the "download" icon wouldn't work. So I right-clicked it and the "open" command was grayed out. Perhaps Stardock's having some technical difficulties? Anyway, is this shareware one of those limited time things like the trial version of WB?

Those who have been following the discussions here might remember me as the reluctant WB user. Well, I took the plunge and bought the full-blown version. (The scroll-bars in the trial version were murder to see!) Well, so far the "real" WB 5 works great. I was wondering- how do you get all those nifty-looking icons that I've seen when viewing the various skins on the screenshots? I suppose I need some other component of Desktop X?

Thanks for the encouragement. Yep, I've discovered it pays to be cautious when it comes to my system. I had quite a few scary moments in the past (especially when updating or purchasing a new system). This is nothing on that scale, of course. I've been running WB and so far so good. Really like Kol's skins- that's what I'm looking for, something very clean and professional. Only thing I can't figure out is how to override the font settings (unless that

Thanks to everyone. This is certainly one of the better online forums I have participated in. Jafo: as for getting the "real" WB, I just need to run the trial version a little while to make sure everything goes smoothly. This computer constitutes part of my livlihood, so I am very careful about what apps I run. Still, I find, at least with me, a change of environment can stimulate productivity, so it could be a good investment. <a href=

Daiwa's suggestion worked -didn't try Night Train's yet. But it seems to be no problem getting back to Luna, should I want to. Anyway, with the trial version can I try out some of the downloadable themes, or do I have to purchase the full version? Anyway, looking good so far. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/

Well, I downloaded and installed the trial version of WB5, but I wasn't totally satisfied with the way it performed. Really the problem wasn't with the sample skins themselves, they seemed to be okay and looked great. However, just to make sure I could get back my previous Luna settings if I wanted to, I went back to "Display Properties\Themes and selected my previously saved Luna theme. Well, it didn't like that as it tried to go into Windows Classic,

Right- I meant I don't care if Norton is skinned... but I do care about Norton itself! I would definitely exclude it from skinning. Anyway, if I try the trial version and want to uninstall it later, is it pretty easy to switch back to my current Luna settings before uninstalling? I've also read that WB5 will leave pieces of itself behind after uninstalling.

Well I suppose my newest Adobe products will be fine...I don't care about Norton, I don't use the interface there very often. Mostly I work with Illustrator and Photoshop and I just wanted to be sure the new look would show up there, since that's what I'm using 90% of the time. Otherwise, why bother? Also, thanks for clearing up the "lizard monkey" issue. Gee, and I thought it was a frog. <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Lau
