Brings up the question: how does a music cd, a hotkey card and some posters jack the weight of the package to 3lbs = $15 for shipping?
bssy
Very True, but is CE worth an additional $25? BB/Frys/EB = 39.95 Stardock CE = 49.95 + 15 = 64.95
ugh, $15 for shipping is crazy. To bad, I was just about to place my order and I saw the shipping charge, wtf? Canceled the order. I can buy from Fry's or Best Buy and save $25!
Same problem here, I'm pissed. Galciv was working fine at 1.0x until the update to 1.1 and now the game freezes whenever I try to save or restore. I need to alt-ctrl-del or power cycle to recover! WINXP Dell XPS2 1GB Ram NVidia 6800 Ultra
I don't know if this is possible, but the Combat Viiewer is so enjoyable watching your custom ships battle, it would be nice to have the option to save the films like the VCR replays from flight simulators.

The ship design feature is one of the most enjoyable features of Galciv2! The openess of the design is terrific! One minor improvement I'd like to see is the "lights" option. Make them translucent and blinking similar to the ships on Satr Trek Bridge Commander. Currently they are more like painted on spots.
Please optimize the ship customizer. The current way to choose parts from one long list is not very user friendly. Also, installing or removing parts from hardpoints is clunky, for some reason it's very difficult to line up parts on the hardpoints and the screen scrolling is boggy. Btw, the ship customizer is loads of fun, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the responses, I apologize for the multiple posts on the same subject. There was a hiccup in the Net and/or my system so I ended up with 3 post on the same subject, sorry.
I just purchased Galciv2, download only version today. At work bandwidth is not an issue, but at home all I have is a dial-up. Several times a year for various reasons I need to reload/format my system and therefore reload all my applications. For Galciv2 how do we create a backup for reloading, without having to download everything again. Can we copy the existing directory structure to a CD and restore from that? Any help would be appreciated.
I just purchased the direct download of Galciv2 from Stardock. I am at work so bandwidth is not an issue. But I only have dial-up at home. 1-2 times a year for various reasons I need to reload/format my system. So when that time arrives how can I reinstall Galciv2 without having to redownload it? Can I just copy the Galciv2 directory structure to a CD and recover that way? Any help would be appreciated.
I really appreciate the step-by-step. It was right on, I'm downloading as I write. Btw, since it is download only, how are you guys doing a backup? Can we copy the game files to a cd for backup? I usually have to reload/format for various reasons 1-2 times a year, so I need a backup of all my applications for reloading. Thanks in advance
I've looked everywhere on the galciv2 and stardock sites. I can't find the token purchase option anywhere. If anybody knows where the token purchase option is located, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction. Thanks
What a great dissertation! I only play single player and enjoy all that extra fluff developers throw into a single player only game. I was debating between Star Wars:Empires at War and Battles for Middle Earth 2. At first I wasn't even considering Galciv2, but after seeing the trailer, screenshots (I am a graphic whore) and reading this post, my one game budget is going to purchase Galciv2! Bravo to Stardock for focusing their resources on single player, they have won another customer!
