The only way I'm aware of to change the location would be to completely reconfigure the location of the entire user folder (can be done via TweakUI IIRC).
You can also of course create a junction down there that points to the location where you want the local settings to be. So you can create a mod folder, or an user settings folder or whatever, wherever you like and create a junction in the old place that points to the new location. So moving the entire user folder i
where do i see the change log?
The history button in SDCentral of course. It redirects you to the [link="http://sdc1.stardock.com/public/sin/production/history.htm"]chancelog[/link]. The forum post was not the final changelog, the final is always posted in the history section.

That might be causing a difference, since I am using XP. Hmm. Try searching for the "Drengin.net" key with regedit. The registry entries will have to be somewhere in vista.

The Vasari "Phasic Transmissions" research can increase the fleet cap by 20%. It does not however allow you to exceed the hard-cap of 2000 defined in gameplay.constants. This makes the final logistics tech, "fleetwide-wide communications" not only useless, but actually detrimental. Since the previous logistics research, "oppressive taxations" with the "phasic transmissions" research gives 1680 * 1.2 = 2016 cap, which becomes 2000 due to the hard-cap. So researching "fleetwide-wide communications

As I also said in another thread that described this problem:
I recieved that error too, but it was just a registry problem, probably left over from the beta. I fixed it as follows: Use regedit to go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Stardock\ComponentManager\Drengin.net\ The key (looks like a folder) for sins of a solar empire is "sin". In my case I received that error because there was also a key called "sins" there. Deleting it removed the error message. [/

Don't know why it makes a difference, but it does. Maps that are not created with the ingame map designer work solely when put in the galaxy subdirectory located in the install directory.

The problem is not the file, or the map, but where you put it. If you put it in "install directory"\Galaxy it works fine. If you put it in the "local settings"\ironclad games\sins of a solar empire\galaxy directory, you have that problem. So there is nothing wrong with Galaxy forge.

I just noticed that in sins all keyboard keys react on the key-up event instead of the customary key-down event; In most RTS games, such as starcraft, there is an reaction when the key is pressed, not when it is released. The reason for that is obvious, it allows for faster control, since it allows the game to react faster to each command. Since sins has such a slower pace than most RTS games, this fast reaction is not so necessary of course, but the reacting on key-up results in a annoying
does that mean if i have to format my pc i can only install sins again once?
No. It means that if you have installed the game at more than two computers at once, you are technically breaking the EULA.
Where do I enter the serial number?
You start Stardock Central. Then you go to the games tab/network. Then you click on "Registration info" in the lower right corner of the screen. In the new window that pops up you select "twilight of the arnor (Expension pack)" from the product drop down list. It is listed just after Galactic Civilizations 2 itself. Make sure the email you used to order is listed in the e-mail field. Then enter the serial from your receipt in the serial
