Shmoopy....stick around....I, for one, do occasionally get weary of some of the 'melodrama' involved, but you're a great person with a HUGE heart and melodrama is to be expected from caring people. Don't listen to catty_eyes....stay....

A preist, a minister and a rabbi were discussing the methods they used to determnine what portion of the 'collection' they gave to the god and what portion they kept for themselves.... Priest: It's easy...First I draw a circle on the ground. Then I stand in the middle of it and throw the collection into the air. Everything that lands inside the circle I give to god and anything that lands outside the circle, I keep. Minister: I do very much the same thing. I draw a circle

I was never able to get comfortable with the 'new and improved' interface in XP either, jj. I don't know if it's because it's been 'dumberized', but I will likely never use it (Win2000 --> Longhorn, for me). I recently bought a Dell laptop that supports nothing but XP and had to void my warranty just to get 2000 on it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" AL

Not so...it's done using MS products because it is the most viable/cost effective platform for developing enterprise class software (Java has been gaining some ground, but .NET will be their demise). Software is designed to perform one or more functions, regardless of platform. The platform is usually decided by cost effectiveness. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" A

I don't this either of you will be exiled...this is too much fun for the rest of us... jj...I develop enterprise level software for very large corporations. These are developed using MS products and are extremely technical in nature. I have been using win2000 since it came out and have not had one blue screen of death yet. Many of my clients do have linux web servers. Do you know wha

Jafo, I disagree completely with your 'jockey' reference. In fact, I think it is insulting to the memory of the shuttle astronauts and to their families. The shuttle crew died as a result of their scientific pursuit for the betterment of mankind and not as a result of a need to achieve celebrity and/or entertain the public/fans. I appologize if I came across as insensitive and insulting. <img src="http

They've been developing linux since 1965 and have not been able to match the features or ease of use of windows which has been around since the mid 80's. MS's having a large majority of the OS market share should tell you that they're doing something right. I kind of doubt that linux would be as evoved as it is today without the presence of MS. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN=

Jafo..Yes...but it would probably get me exiled.... Seriously, I have little pathos for people who kill themselves needlessly. What's the point of going ridiculous speeds? I realize that racing can be a lucrative profession, but I believe people with family responsibilites can find better ways of supporting their families. It just seems incredibly selfish to me to take these risks with a family to consider. I do feel sorry for his wife and children. Wombat...how dare you co

Not true jj. To have your opinion respected here you need to have an informed, researched opinion. Microsoft is a corporate entity...their sole purpose is to make money. I don't necessarily love them, but I do appreciate what they have done to further the computing industry.
