The tools these kids have for programming nowadays are insane. When I first started coding, I had to use beeps to tell where something is crashed. Now, in your c:\programdata\stardock\elemental war of magic directory are ZIP files with crash .dmps in them that we can load and actually take us to the line of code where it crashed. It's insane.
I have supplied such a file for version 2a and 2b. Game crash on clicking
You must love self punishment. I rate MOO III as the biggest dissapointment in gaming history by far....
This is one I might get on sale way into the future. The new Kings Bounty has priority. Thats real quality!!

This game is progressing fast now. I just hope they get some CTD crashes fixed soon. I have not been able to play the game for the last two versions. Have reported my problems and given crash files. Its incredible if they can get this game out in two months. Still, I expect that they will have lots of stuff to do in patches. Go Stardock!
Bloodbowl is actually a clever strategy game- don't discount it. Sadly the DS interface is kludgy and causes more confusion than it should.
I bought it because I had considered getting it for PC, I guess I should have done that. I will try the DS one sometime :)
Thanks ppl. I will make a list, print it and have a look in the used games section :)
Hi My daughter (5 years old) got a DS for her birthday with Zhu Zhu and Super Mario Bros. I took a trip to Gamestop and got Bloodbowl, Advanced Wars:Dual Strike and Might and Magic:Clash of Heroes. Bloodbowl got very bad reviews and I havnt tried it yet. Advanced Wars is a great game (more or less the same as good old Battle Isle on PC). Clash of Heroes seems ok, but I havnt tried it enough to really know yet. Do you people know of any good games
GOthic 3 for like $4. Never would have considered it otherwise but for 4 bucks why not.
Cause you would loose hours of your life on slow loading times and bugs??
Bought Gothic 3 a couple of years back. Wasted at few hours on this buggy performance hogging beast. Not worth a dollar in my opinion
I found it http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8523102/Elemental0_804-2010-06-27T19-59-14-31.zip
I still have this problem after the new release. I have made a dropbox account and uploaded the zip files you are refering to, but I am not quite sure how this works. Is there an url that links into my public folder??
I just hope my crash on clicking new game is fixed. Or I will have to summon this beta in my imagination again [e digicons]:troll:[/e]
Hi there. I think Stardock prefers one post per bug for easier collecting [e digicons]:jafo:[/e]
Uninstalled, deleted Elemental forlders under my documents, ran cc cleaner on registry, reinstalled. Helped nothing :(
didnt work for me - uninstalled, deleted elemental folders in my documents, ran cc cleaner and reinstalled. Same problem
I have the same issue and have made a post about it earlier today. Options and New Game will crash the game instantly. I have not had many crashes before this version.
Upgraded my displaydrivers to 6.14.10.5076 - still crashes
It will also crash on clicking the Options button, but not on the Load button or the Exit button.
Could it be that the game is awaiting internet access and you need to click allow in ZoneAlarm. I have this problem every time the game is updated. My trick is to switch back and forth between my two external monitors and my laptop screen. Then I can see the ZoneAlarm question and click allow.
After the last update I get a crash on clicking New Game. Debug.err is posted below DebugMessage: Version 0.803 last updated on: Wed Jun 16 11:49:24 2010 DebugMessage: Entering WinMain DebugMessage: ******* Starting Game Shell ******* DebugMessage: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 6/18/2010, 12:45:29 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: Operating System: Wind
There are many ways to limit city spamming. A few: 1. Maintenance increases with more cities (think CIV IV) 2. The worlds population is limited. Cities with more prestige/infra will attract higher population growth. This means that an empire with three well developed cities would attract more people than an empire with seven small cities. I like this one. 3. The cost of essence is limiting expansion 4. Settling a new city could have a high materi
Couldnt the tree be more dynamic? When the tree get to a certain size, it can change rules to not give too much clutter. Instead of showing 12 red archer units it could collaps them into a blue archer unit after reaching 10. Then if you mouse over the blue one, then it expandes to individual red ones that are clickable.
