Consider the actual scale of construction in-game. If you build a ship you're putting together every component and building it up, but really government forces are a tiny fraction of what's going on in space. The megacorporations are probably building many more private ships than there are government ships, and they've probably got any component that has been designed on hand (or a functional equivalent) already. They just need to build it

Look at it this way: If in a 5 way game each of the 5 civs develop a new unique tech, and in each trade you're charged 4x what the other civ's tech is worth, you're still winning out. Just be sure to trade the same tech to everyone on the same turn; as long as nobody else is trading it away before you you can trade the same tech multiple times.

Whatever else you might say, when I've figured out the AI (and I WILL figure out the AI) I will be done with this game. I've played some multiplayer games on/off for a year+, but I've never played a single player game more than a couple of months. It does really hurt this game for me not being able to go online and fight it out with my friends. Buying the core game was still worth it (its excellent), but I can't imagine an expansion pack j

So in short market centers arent worth it unless you've got more than 10 farms down on that world? If I've got 1 farm for 5b people, I can add either another farm (10b people, doubling income), or say an advanced market center (+10%). Slight disparity there...

I had an enemy civ declare war on me because the graph told it it had 10+ times as much power as me. Needless to say I shredded its fleet and started marching from world to world. Then it crashed with corrupted saves >. But yeah this is a big problem - you can be utterly destroying them and they can still think they're much more powerful than you and be unwilling to come to terms.

I agree with the people talking about it having room for expansion - more modules and such would be awesome, as would some control over color scheme while in-game. Personally I'd LOVE to have a ship-builder option at the main menu where I could design ships for later use, either just the no-tech stuff (and I'd have to put in modules in-game) or just not get access to the ships until you've researched the appropriate tech. I'd also

I get the same crash bug as numerous people above were noting - all saves corrupted, I can load any of them and play to a specific turn and it'll crash. Running WinXP Home Ed. English version 2x GeForce 6600 GT graphics cards, SLI or not makes no difference (I tested) CPU: AMD Athlon64 3300+ 2 GB DDR ram All drivers are brand new (I reformatted and reinstalled everything about 2 weeks ago).

I've been crashing every time one of my games reaches August 22, 2229. I haven't reached that date on any other game so I can't test that. I HAVE tried rebooting, changing system settings, loading old games instead of the newest saves, etc. Having my game reach a state where it crashes and theres nothing I can do about it is pretty darned game-breaking for me (since what's stopping it from happen in a new game I create?). Any suggestions

You can - just not the "core" designs. Furthermore, the game automatically imports previous designs as you research the tech, so you can easily just design each level of colony ship or whatever once and use it in every game. Personally I feel like I'm getting my $50 worth just playing with the ship designer... I would love for them to allow us to use that independently of the game and just use whatever tech we feel like, so that the ship be

Just tried it without SLI enabled... still crashing at the same turn (regardless of whether I roll it back to a previous save or use the most recent). If anyone has any suggestions at all for fixing this, please share, because I'd love to be able to continue to play the game - it's awesome but unplayable atm.

Apologies - the crash is not the third week of July, 2259 - its the last week of August, 2229 (I load up at Aug. 22, end the turn, that works, the next time I end the turn it crashes). I HAVENT tested if it crashes on a second time through because frankly playing another few hundred turns in order to find out if it goes boom isn't palatable to me, and it's game breaking because playing another few hundred turns only to find out that the game

I've had the following issues so far: 1. Could not download Stardock Central (it was coming in corrupted). In the end I had to have someone else download the installer and direct connect it to me (that worked). Please note that I do NOT have download issues with anything else (I had a similar problem with all downloads over a few megabytes previously, due to nvidia firewall, but I disabled all software firewalls long ago and let my router
