Ok, i was investigating issues relating to my own system that are unique, since other people weren't having this issue, from what i could see on the forum. I use a font management utility called Suitcase and i was looking at what fonts i had installed (or uninstalled). Turns out i had two versions of the Font Gal Civ 2 uses: Bank Gothic. I'm getting this strange garbled text for all of my buttons...i can't do anything with the game like this. I installed the update and have tried different resolutions on my card. I'm using the latest driver. My language settings are the standard US Windows XP install for English. I haven’t changed any of the language settings from the XP install. I'm running 1920 x 1200 wide screen resolution, but I changed to 1600x1200 and it didn’t help any. The same problem again.<b
I just downloaded the game and installed it. When i select "Start Game" and the main game screen comes up, the buttons along the right have seriously messed up characters, making them meaningless. I'm using a 24 inch wide screen LCD on Windows XP connected digitally to my Intel box. I'm running an Nvidia geForce 6800 GPU.
