LOL. I bought Space Rangers 2, and really didn't have any problems with the Starforce, but this last desperate stunt will hopefully lead to some changes in how game companies deal with DRM. I don't judge anybody, including software pirates. If I didn't have a job or any money, I don't know what I might do. I always thought companies lost more money to overseas conterfeit duplications anyway.
I got the game online, then they sent me the really nice new collectors edition box/dvd through the mail. Great game company. Very talented people who actually appreciate their customers. The popularity of GC2 and all this Starforce crap is really gonna test their patience though. I may decide to reinstall from the box DVD, because I have no interest in the actual Stardock Central stuff, that has a lot of pc utility downloads and a chatroom and stuff.
Totally agree with you about these forums. I accidentally triple posted, now I get an error message when I try to delete my redundant posts. Maybe I've got a setting set wrong in Stardock Manager tab or something. I didn't think that had anything to do with just browsing forums with IE though.
LOL. There's already a big post about this on the main page with about 150 replies to it already. Oh well, with so many redundant threads (ex. 6 seperate threads on "whens the game demo comes out"), page loads take forever and its easy to miss the main topics sometime.
Indeed, that might be illegal. You should consult a lawyer to find out. I'd love to see those jerks get slapped with a "cease and desist". Or worse. Since Starforce is based in Russia, I'd be curious just how this would happen.
I guess all those reviews everywhere on the web giving this game a 90++, are easy to miss.
Sorry Bill, some of us have regular jobs, and aren't multimillionaires from an overrated tv show. I know if I had a few mill in the bank, I could definitely "get a life", be more exciting, date supermodels, hang with Donald Trump, drive ferarris, ect., ect. j/k, I dig Bill, he was really a cool guy in that movie "Free Enterprise" too.
bumpity-bump. Sorry, my xbox game that was mailed 03/06/06 didn't come today(Gamefly, u SUCK!!), so I'm playing GC2 today. Need an answer ASAP please. Saw someone put "(Free Beer)" in his post to get attention. Maybe I should try that. BTW With all the success of the game and the forums getting crowded, I hope Stardock gets some more bandwidth.
I didn't read through all the comments, but If it hasn't been said already, those vodka swilling cossacks over at Starforce are a bunch of A holes. They posted that because your game is making money and you didn't hire them to @uck up ppls. computers to install the game. I thought most dvd-rom sales were lost to counterfeit duplication in SouthEast Asia, namely China anyway.
I got bored of all the AI tech selling/trading hassle and wanted more combat, so I only play the BoG mode now, as the Terrans. With all the techs available, why is the AI still building technological capitals, and hyperion research centers? Also, when I try to counter a single AI ships with 200 beam attack, and 150 shields, and build a ship comparable to this I can't. And this is with a Hyperion Shrinker available. Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought BoG mode was all
There's a "realism" mod for EaW I saw at gamestop. So maybe the game is better now than what I saw in the demo. Wasn't impressed.
You get access to those 3 weapons once you research Xeno Ethics and align with evil. Good gives you access to defense components, OK,...now I know how the Drath Legion arrived at my colony with a 380 hitpoint Dreadnought and kicked my @ss. This was on Normal setting. Bah!
This is an assine subject. I'd much rather have the developers devote their time to fixing balancing issues & stamping out bugs than going back and making a pointless cosmetic change. FTW!

LOL, some peeps should just maybe stick with their consoles, and buy one of them "newfangled gadget personal computer thingys" after they can legally drink a beer, or some other requirement.
Stalk their trade routes and blast their freighter/escort ships outta space. Haha, scum Torians, thats what happens when you get overextended trying to take over the entire galaxy. They actually came and begged for a peace treaty, even though they had twice as many ships as me.
Its been said a lot elsewhere on the forums, but I'd like to say thanks for a FANTASTIC game. 0 problems after about 20 hrs. play. Thanks god for good people still making great games for the pc.
Just go buy a new mouse with programmable buttons. I use the Logitech MX-310. Go to settings and just put button 4 or 5 to say "center button"....bingo....problem solved.
Thanks Brad and Stardock! This is my first space strategy game,..(never played GCI). I'm mainly a fps game person. Anyway, enjoying GC2 alot, and the great first-class support is most welcome and appreciated, and have made me a loyal customer for life. The line in the game manual about Class 8 planets being a "lot like Northern Michigan" had me ROFL. I used to live in Grand Rapids, hehe.
