When was the original age of consoles "besting" pc's? I guess instead of Mac v. Intel, pc v. consoles argument will have to make do for now. I can see them. And my settings are very average. 2xAA, 1280 x 1024, and don't forget to turn up the contrast a bit. Looks really cool.

Don't do it! Cheats are what ruined the fun of Civ4 for me. Learning this game is half the fun. Just play on a lower difficulty setting or make other races less intelligent until you get the hang of it.

I vote for the Group #3 approach. Starbase bonuses that are actually listed in the planet details screen. Being able to conduct espionage on minor races. Being able to combine a fleet and a military starbase, and to actually see the starbase do its job on the tactical screen, helping your fleet.

I'll admit, I bought this game just to pass time until another game that I really wanted was released. Never heard of the company or the GC franchise. But damn if you got me hooked on a space sim. I feel your pain. We've all had to update video, sound, modem drivers and even do XP reinstalls because of video games. It sucks, and you wanna put your fist through a wall. Huh? Totalgami...tokens?.....wtf? Let's not over-complicate this. I agree that the forums could use some more bandwidth, but that beside the point. All you have to do is click the link on the front page to get the game, enter info. and the Stardock Central app. downloads the game for you. Be sure to get all the multimedia and the patches as well. Very simple. Then they will send you a box/dvd set of the game you just downloaded.
