What I do is host a large 10 player map (I usually start with less than 10) set to FFA with locked teams. If a few people quit for various reasons, who cares? You could also refine it to 2x2x2x2x2 - even then a few drops aren't always a show stopper.
Piracy is not the only reason why PC gaming is dying
I doubt piracy is a reason at all. It's getting easier for anyone with a console to find a mod that will allow them to play any game for free. The mods are legal and the games are transferred over bittorrent as easy as the PC software. Sure, you can't play a pirated console game online, but how is that any different than PC games like SINS? For the record, I have both a modded console and a PC, and I
Nightraid3r so since I am born in the 21st century
You were? I'd say 99.9% of online gamers were born in the 20th century, so that would make you a prodigy. :)
That message is very misleading. You are never really able to join the game server, so you can't be disconnected from it.
Most people can't even host. But I usually host a 3 vs 3 computers because people like to screw u over lol.
Put locked teams ON. Then they can't backstab you.
I was thinking about this last night. I don't think it would be too difficult for the developers to add an API for external websites. When you play an online game, the game constantly reports the stats to the Ironclad servers - this empire has quit, and this empire now has these planets. (The stats are already there as you can see at the end of each game.) An external website could take these stats and use them - not just to allow you to build a better online community, but also to c
I feel SINS failed in providing an online ranking system. It's no fun playing game after game where someone quits as soon as one thing goes against them. The online system really sucked IMHO.
Girls suck at online games!! That's why I beat them nearly half the time! ;)
But it will be a cold day in hell before america litteraly dies.
LOL - The US is not literally alive, so it won't literally die. It will just do what the USSR did and slowly lose infrastructure and power as the money goes away.
The other times its all been me vs. pirates. When I see them come with like 15+ ships, I usually just quit, becasue its really stupid.
Please don't join any of my games... I can't stand people who waste my time.
Before you go and piss people off in multiplayer, understand this.
Before you go and piss off people in these forums, why don't you use the default forum font? Much easier to read!!
What a presumptuous, manipulative and arrogant world you live in ebcommand010..
Looks to me like a dupe account or friend of "korben22" not satisfied with a 25 min response time. Imagine how the world is going to be run when these children grow up...
Sorry - mispost.
I really start loosing at the end with the TEC. (favorite faction) i loose with the advent and vasari too.
My advice would be to keep it tight.
A good dozen points I did not know! Nice post sir.
Wouldn`t the simplest solution be to increase the amount of statistical reporting per game to a central database? Then you can look at a person`s profile and see that the last game they built 100 LRM frigates (and little else) and decide not to play with them. This will also work for any other issues that come up. Don`t expect the devs to deal with your issues. :)
You cannot log onto ICO simultaneously with multiple machines using the same serial. LAN play is however permitted.Which is awesome.I play it over LAN with my nephew on a daily basis.
You realize it is PERMITTED, and not really moral, right? If you are playing daily on two machines with two people, you really should do the right thing and have two copies. I think they permit LAN games to allow people to try it out, and to allow people to have LAN games without
I don't think there's a need for the slight difference between the surrender and quit options. You quit, you lose. i agree with that but what of the people who got disconnection?
If a person has 10 disconnections, that is a person I don't want to play with. They may not be doing it on purpose, but it does ruin the game for everyone else. If you don't have a stable internet connection, you really shouldn't gamble away the time others spend playing.
"Profanity is the effort of a weak mind to express itself forcefully." So is caps lock too I think... :)
No, I do understand how the game works, you dont have to patronize me with simple mathematics. Once you reach the critical mass point, the guy with 10 planets is making 25 credits/sec true. But the person with 40 planets isnt making 100 credits per sec due to corruption and distance. His close planets are making 10 credits per sec, his outer rim planets are making like 0.1 credits per second. So when you add up the numbers the person with more planets is making less than the person wit
There is no such thing as perfect. Even if we all agreed on the feature set, there would ALWAYS be a way to improve.
The computer doesnt like fair fights so when he sees the small attack force he throws everything at it.
LOL. Have you ever read 'The Art of War'? There is no such thing as a "fair fight" when your civilization is as stake. Do you think the US would hesitate to use nuclear weapons if they were losing a conventional war that threatened their entire way of life? It's very smart to use all your forces to attack something, no matter how small - it minimizes your lo
Change the supply cap to be related to your planetary control. e.g. if there are six players in a game, there would be potentially 12,000 population available. If you control 50% of the planets your max pop cap could be 6,000. That way one person who owns most of the galaxy won't still be outnumbered by a pair of nobodies working together from some small corner.
I disagree and I think it would be LESS fun your way. You own 80% of the galaxy - there is no way for those
This argument really holds no weight at all. Yeah there are immature people online, a simple mute functionality fixes that problem very nicely.
I think the argument is perfect. Does each player come with a maturity rating beside their name (can we add that to 1.03)? So you get stuck with them on your team and have to listen to them spew insults and garbage, or put them on mute and watch them ignore you when you need help. Some
What I mean is I want to press a button to build infinite queue of ships so i dont need to click 100 times to build 100 scouts for example.
Kind of like "Tribal Trouble" (another Stardock game)? I don't see that working in this game - you won't be able to win against a competent AI with just one type of ship.
