*drools* Baldur's Gate 2 (in particular, the rest were ok enough) - now there I remember many many hours of eventful exploration and questing back in the days. I still remember getting it delivered when it was brand new. The store had double charged me, but that was easily taken care of. The rest, well pure entertainment for weeks. :-)
Yeah, I stopped nostalgia trip at 5 for a good reason... otherwise I'd still be playing Ultima 7 right now
Yeah, very understandable, Ultima 7 is one of my all time favourite games. I don't think the countless hours I spent on the Ultima 7s back in the days has yet to be rivaled by any other game or game series to date. I've been meaning to try it out with Exult ( http://exu
You should think twice about that... and make sure you have enough free time for the worst case scenario. If you experience the same problem I had, you won't be able to stop playing all of your functional old games for weeks. This happened to me a few months ago when I broke out my old ST1040 and played all the way through Ultima 3, 4, and 5.
Yeah, last time I dared the venture up there I ended
I still have a couple of shoeboxes full under my desk for my Atari ST 1040 that work perfectly to this day!
I believe perhaps your desk might be slightly less prone to the elements than my attic (although I am sure there are other risks :-p). Come to think of it, in retrospect perhaps the attic wasn't the best place, but I haven't really thought about it all that much until this thread. Maybe I should ventur

This thread brings back a lot of memories, so many games I remember with fond memories. Ultima series, X-Com, Civilization, Pirates!, Dune, X-wing, Eye of the beholder, Quest for glory, all the Sierra "quest" games, just about every single Lucasart adventure etc etc etc... Not counting any earlier machines, my first "IBM compatible PC" game purchase(s): Sim City and Populous. Sim City came with a dark maroon copy protection symbol sheet, and it was difficult as hec

S3 ViRGE 3D... *shivers in fear* What a horrible 3D performance that card had. Although in truth I don't think I cared that much about 3d acceleration until a few years later, so I ran mostly with Matrox until I couldn't ignore the Nvidia cards anymore. I've stayed with every other generation or so Nvidia card to come out since then, but it is nice to see some serious competition again from ATI. I will have to consider them for the next upg

*waits patiently* Already equipped for this, but I assume that by the "Coming soon" *cough* *cough* 2010 release date I'll have gone through another upgrade cycle. Glad to hear there won't be any "toying" and that you're actually intending for a fullblooded 64-bit version with some nice benefits. I'm scheduled to be pre-ordering just in time for the beta. :-)

I used TGN tokens to pre-order as soon as I was able to and I got my serial in the lookup request at 3:49 pm CET time (10:49 am EST)...which was quite a bit before Stardock Central was updated for TA. But I did the lookup mostly because I had to for DA which I also pre-ordered with my TGN tokens as soon as I learned of it. Maybe this is my shameless plug for taking out that 10 token TGN subscription next time. (although, I have no e

I didn't receive any serial by e-mail for DA, and had to do this procedure back then. So figuring it would be the same with TA I did this some hours ago and received a serial for it, and have just been waiting for Stardock central to update to include TA in the list of games. Which it does now so, playtime...

I've had to do the following for DA, and now for TA: In Stardock Central: Tools-->Settings...--->Lookup serial number That got me my serial, which I added to the serial field in the Games menu also in the settings (selecting TA from the list).

I think I've managed to read all the posts, hopefully avoiding duplicates: - When renaming ships/fleet: Auto naming when making a fleet will be something like "Terran Alliance Fleet 13" - trying to change it manually won't allow more than "Terran Alliance Flee". - When constructing: Building a Manufacturing Capital - for some reason one can press upgrade in that zone before it is actually completed, which in my case removed the unfinished (but almost done) Manufacturing Cap
