Also, I shoiuld point out that this is late game, I am producing large ships now and have had four groups of three medium ships controlling the galaxy for awhile now.

I told you, I am playing on tough. It wouldn't take a lot to have the computer either pair it's transports with escorts, or to have them end their turns on the same spots so that you couldn't get a free kill. I don't always escort my transports, but they all move upwards of 10 spaces per turn, and my fighters have already taken out all surrounding resistence. I don't think I've played a game where the somputer hasn't left an unescorted transport (or gr
Not sure if they are they same as the intial batch I destroyed, but the Yor defender 2-11 has 0-0-0 1-0-1 and 11HP for stats and two of their planets still have them 3 of them as their only defense. Strangely enough, the Yor Defender 2-6 has 4 attack and 2 defense but did not appear to be made in high volume. I've noticed the Terrans have made a lot of ships without weapons or armor, but only 1 per planet which I suppose is to stop unescorted transport
It seems to me that the computer makes a number of serious errors in overall strategy, particuarly in the research paths it pursues. For example, I have learned that there are innurerable benefits to going after Star Republic and Democracy early on, yet the computer rarely gets these before the game is over. Also, it seems that any Neutral Civ can benefit immensely from XEno Ethics, yet the computer researches Habit Improvement instead. In
This error has only happened a few times, but in one instance I designed a ship, saved it, but could not select it from the list to build it on a planet (it did not appear in the list) However, when I tried creating it again and saving it, it told me I coudl not duplicate the name. I tried saving it under a different name, with the same problem. AT a later point both deisgns showed up. I had gotten the next minituarization tech at that point so I think
This is truely terrible, as there is very litte difficulty to begin with, even on 'Tough' difficulty, but now the computer has started building ships without weapons. The last planet I attacked was guarded by five ships all with shields but with no weapons altogether. At first I though it was a bug that wasn't allowing the enemy ships to fire. It's simple enough to tell the AI to build all ships with at least one attack in some area, what is the point
I have seen invisible stars a number of times in the new Beta, although I don't think you can fly through them. I am still able to click them to find out the number of inhabitable planets in the solar system.
Not sure how long this has been an issue, but yesterday the UP council actually voted to give me an unihabited planet. The problem is that I have already researched Xeno Ethics and the free planet upgrade bonuses are not present on this planet.
Actually, from another post, I read that if the UP votes to change the minimum constructor speed, it also sets the maximum as well.
No, If I zoom out the computer is still mining nothing
Shouldn't they send ships to destroy it first? They finally did after they lost four constructors, but not enough to defeat the starbase anyway. Maybe they were confused because I blew up their original starbase and the constructors were taking a while to get there?
And I keep blowing them up was a small fighter stationed nearby. The AI should clearly not be doing this since I chose tough for my difficulty.
An opposing AI started a mining starbase over what apperars to be nothing in the galactic map. Either there is a resource there, and the game is not displaying it properly, or this is a glitch that occured as a result of me taking a nearby resource first. Either way it seems like a bug, I am running version 1.1 beta.
I think a fun idea for a ship design would to be to research entirely the Mass-Driver weapon line up until the point you got Nano-Ripper technology, then to put as many of those as you possibly could on a Cargo Hold. Sure the ship would be very expensive and be destroyed in one hit, but it should be able to take out any other ship in its first strike!
As far as i know, only systems with yellow stars are capable of having habitable planets. So even if you set the likelyhood of habitable planets to very high, there will still be a number of systems that won't have habitable planets.
The first time I loaded a save game with the new patch it crased to the desktop. I started the game up and tried loading it again and it worked fine...
My guess is that for some reason the computer picks what to build and then where to build it. If, in the above case, the computer built the farm first, then the factory, then the research center it is possible the land was just used up on the previous build. Still, I think the computer should use their bonuses for the appropriate buildings when possible, and if there is no bonus, build on an empty tile first.
Yes, sorry I couldn't remeber the exact difficulty before, but the computer AI were all set to 'Intelligent' I should just post a screenshot of the most terrible planet, it's mostly like it was before since the structures cost so much to buy now...
Or do you just use fleets to defend them?
Aside from the Technological and Manufacturing Capitals, the planets are much, much worse than mine. Well, some are alright, but as I said, most have too few factories. In my plan, between 33 and 50% of the terrain should be used for factories. I am playing it where the AI is at the hardest level where they still produce at the same rate as you, so the AI should be fine.
The league recently capped the number of modules at four, at by accident I found a way around it. If you have a starbase at 3 modules, and move a group with 2 constructors to the starbase, it will still allow you to build two improvements...
In my current game, the league decided to cap the number of modules for starbases to 4, permanently! Although I found a partial way around this, it is still extremly anoying. What is the punishment for leaving the League of Planets?
Every AI planet I inherit seems to have some serious problems with the improvements they bought. I've even gotten a planet with ten improvements and not a single factory! I've gotten planets where they're put a structure over a special resource that doesn't benefit from it at all. Why does this happen?
Well, basically, I invaded their territory with 2 fleets of 4 medium ships, took out their starbases and then attacked a huge pile of their medium ships that were just sitting there. They had about 18 of them to start, but since I had 2 fleets with 9 moves each I attacked and killed all of their medium ships one by one. The next turn I killed all of their units in orbit around their home planet, and in the following turns did the same to the ones around their other 4 planets. I lost a troup tran
In my current game, the Altarians surrendered without a single one of their cities taken, to the Drengi! The even called me up and told me about it, just to spite me. I am a little confused though, because both the Terrans and the other neutral civilization where both left at this point, why did they go with the Drengi? Arn't those two opposite alignments?
