You CAN scroll by the edges of the screen, just not the corners (as in not diagonally).

I actually went through and wrote down all of the techs for about two thirds of the core ship designs that can be unlocked through research. However, (I'm pretty sure) these ships can't be upgraded and I can easily make much better ones so in my opinion there is no reason to jump through the research hoops to unlock them. I find that they needlessly clutter my ship selection lists and I never ended up using them. They look great but I save time and
Are you sure you clicked on send? Sometimes I select what I want to do and then click done which closes the screen. If you did get the confirmation you might try reporting it in one of the bug threads for a future fix.
Some have suggested inticing another race to war with the owner of the transport (or influence starbase), placing a ship/fleet right next to the transport, then gifting that ship/fleet to the warring faction to do your dirty work for you. Haven't tried it myself but hope to soon
I never use more than one colony module ever. Just select one module, enough life support to reach your destination, and as many engines as you can fit on there. I even take the speed enhancing racial feature at the beginning of the game so that my ships go an extra parsec or two per turn.
I did a quick forum search on the left for "alliance." This thread seems to have a few good ideas: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=102284

I have the same video card and the videos only played for me on an AA setting less than 4.
3. Just a little more info... It has been demonstrated in other threads that it is rarely beneficial to put more than one type of weapon on a ship. Until you have some of the smaller defenses or miniaturization, I wouldn't recommend putting in defenses until medium hulled ships, and even then stick to one type of defense or max two types. Basically, your smaller, earlier fighters should focus on one type of weapon, no defense. 2nd or 3rd gen ships you can add some defense to counterac
When you select a race, and click "speak to" button it lists all of their planets on the right. This is for the purpose of trading with them, but also lets you know what planets, techs, credits that they have. If they are still in game and have planets colonized you can look them up on the trade screen, and then find which star system it is attached to and go from there on the map.
I was unable to watch any of the videos at all, but sound worked fine. I did a forum search and one of the devs said to try dropping/removing the anti-aliasing. I dropped mine from 4 to 0 and it solved the problem. I bumped the AA up to 2 and I can still watch the videos and get some AA effect. EDIT: Just out of curiousity I bumped it up to AA of 3 and the videos and tutorials etc. still work. Only having problems at the setting of 4 for the anti-aliasing.
Okay got an automated email which eventually linked me to: https://www.stardock.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=146&pcid=52&nav=0,52 I am having trouble with Step 5 of the archiving process and still waiting on an email on how to switch my downloaded version so that I can pay S+H for the boxed copy as well. I will post back here when I figure out exactly how I do/did it if I figure it out. EDIT: The forum autolinked the first p
Okay well I will try to find where to contact them again. If this thread doesn't get buried too quickly I will post back here if I can get it to work. If I can get away from the game that is, haha. EDIT: [email protected] www.stardock.com/support if anyone is interested...
Use the archive method described by ShenLeung, and burn a copy of the .sdc file plus the Stardock Central installer to CD/DVD (probably DVD). From there, you can use the DVD to install SDC, run SDC, and under the File menu there's an "Import" or "Restore" item that you can use to turn the .sdc archive back into the in
