No problem. Just keep in mind the new 1.1 retail update is out, so what you are getting in the demo is just a small taste of what is out now. Upgrade already!
Good news. Now, can you explain in a little more detail what you mean? I'm not following you as I have never used winamp, and haven't used trillian in years. Maybe you are referring to the screen snapping to units or back into it's fixed camera view? Not quite sure, also... It might help if you run the game again, then post your new debug.err log.
Debug Message: Random Event: Begin Debug Message: Random Event: End Unfortunately I have seen this at the end of many debug.err posts. I don't know which events cause CTDs and I have seen Brad reply to debugs ending like this, so I don't know how to help you there. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="
Here's the nVidia Link And you might try turning off the anti aliasing in your options menu. EDIT: I think this is the link for your audio drivers as well: Link
I think giving information of bugs and trouble by us, helps stardock to fix it. You can mail any corrupt save game files to stardock with a description of what is causing your problem. I was hoping 1.1 would fix autosaving too, I don't have trouble with it, but apparently it is still happening, or something related to it.
Hmm, here is the sticky link for dual core machines: Link Basically, make sure your video and audio drivers are up to date (as in 2006), and try disabling anti-aliasing. I think the demo will create a debug.err log file. Can you post this please? It is created in your GalCiv2 folder and can be opened in notepad or wordpad. Just copy and paste the whole file.
It seems that anytime anything goes wrong, it is a "bug." Nope. I think I may have found a real one. Nope. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tabl
Well I got 1.1 with the StarDock Central utility program. It can be had at this link: {SDC here} Install it, and on the top of the list is Games. Click on it, then to the right of GalCiv2 is the update button for 1.1

*sigh*
Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA 4B last updated on: Thu Apr 20 15:53:54 2006 Just thought I would point out that the official 1.1 patch has been released. Drop that beta version and update those drivers. Your crash is probably related to the resolution variations, and the Page File and RAM increases would help with loading time.
It's to prevent cheating and abuse of game mechanics, particularly for metaverse games if I remember right.
The entire thing, dont be shy

For a temporary fix you can disable the auto save in the options menu. Just save manually for now.
Can you post your debug.err file please?

Have you been trying to mod the game or messing with the files? That might be the source of some of your troubles. If the answer is yes you might try a fresh install if you somehow messed things up. BTW, your drivers, etc. look fine, but without you posting a specific problem to address the only advice I would give you is to try running the game in the same resolution as your desktop.
...or you can just try matching your game resolution to your desktop resolution. This can also be edited in your prefs.ini file (use wordpad or notepad to open and edit it).
I try to go from the nearest weak neighbor to the next, then finish with massive wars with the remaining large empires. Maybe, Iconians first, then consolidate, prep for war and take on a slightly bigger fish? Also, if you are worried about them surrendering, you might try getting them down to half of their planets or so, then try to do a massive final assault. It is really hard to make you first attack or two take on their whole empire, but I've fo
It is in your galciv2 folder and can be opened with notepad/wordpad. Just copy and paste the text into a new topic with a description of your problem.
Glad to see you got it fixed.
You can manually edit your fullscreen/window settings, and resolution in your prefs.ini file. It is found in the mygames/galciv2 folder. Not 100% on that for windows 2000.
Well after thinking on it some more, I've thought of a few other things: It is probably too late now, but rereading your post reminded me of your previous comments about gaming distribution. The more outlets with your game, the more copies you sell. I'd think the same applies to marketing, the more outlets you advertise in the more customers you reach. I'd think that a 2-page add in 2 magazines would not bring in as many sales as a 1-page add in 3-4 magazines. Just a thought. Als
