So you tried the galciv2ide? Did the available modules run properly? No, sorry I haven't. I haven't had much time to...

Well it's good that people are trying to make a scenario editor. (Or map editor, whatever you call it.) Shame on stardock that they didn't put this in DL, or DA for that matter. Since they couldn't make the epic generator, I figured they would replace the EG with something else....such as a map editor, but noooooooooo! .....Okay I'm done.
Why is that? I mean if somone asks "how do you auto launch ships" it is simple to answer. But if somone asks "is there a God" well it is a tad more complicated don't you think? Perhaps.....but thats a noob question. Imagine if every noob started a god thread. Galciv2.com would be renamed to Galciv2.god!
Duff...and Düff...and possibly Redtick Beer....
Like this forum needs another religous thread. Why do people put religous threads on here? To top it off, these religous threads never die! why do you read them? Besides the irony of me answering this question, I don't read them. I just pop in sometimes to see if anyone replies to what I said. Have you seen that "How can we all be athiests" thread? It's HUGE! It's about to go to 300 posts. A damn shame considering
The minors shouldn't of gotten hyperdrive in the first place. I want to be able to have races that don't even know they aren't alone. Kind of like Stargate, except we never found the stargate and the Gauld come to wipe us out while we are completely unawares.
I agree that the whole production systems needs a big revival. Most new players would be fairly sensible to reason "Industrial Sectors? That means better industry. I'll be able to produce more ships with less time/money. Let's research that." Then they wonder why their economy crashes. Similarly they probably don't realise that they're paying to use all the production bonuses granted by starbases and power plants. The whole system is unfriendly and unintuitiv
YCk! I hear ya! How do I get this cursed tool bar off of my status bar?
AGH! I just saw the ghost ship, it's a real pain. It seems there are multiple ghost ships stacked and they seem to be slowing it down. They don't even change when you zoom out! They aren't responding to the stacked ship feature either. Whenever I accidentally pan over it DA will sometimes crash......damn damned souls!
When DA had the performance bug, I played DL. Now that it's fixed I play DA now....mostly because of Custom opponents and the new ship combat.
Are you running with enhanced ship rendering on or off? If I remember right it was off, but it was a quite sometime. The graphics settings were on LOW. It's no biggy on POOR graphics though.
I think anomalies would contribute a lot more to the game if they were drastically reformed. Right now, all that happens is that everyone starts off with a survey ship, and gets a fairly even share of small, insignifican bonuses that generally average out. If it was me designing the game, i'd make the following changes, in the event that i considered it a high priority. 1 option to not start with a free survey ship. why should you have a ship
bump. I don't know that this is needed anymore, but it seems like the "recent posts" tab keeps recycling the most popular threads and never giving the lower ones a chance...bump

Blow the ship up! I've noticed that a civ's flagship will just sit in a desolate corner of the map when all scouting is done.
I would love to see the CLOAKING ability. "Your ideas for the next UPDATE " I don't mind if you want cloaking, but that is more of a thing you would put in an expansion or GC3
This wouldn't apply to initially playing a custom race, but how about this mega event: a mad scientist figures out a way to transpose the personalities of you (the player) with the leader of an opposing empire. All of a sudden, you have to play as one of the AI's empires, and the AI in turn picks up where you left off with your own empire. That would be more of a pain. Especially at end game when you are about to invade the enemies last planet and- OH N
If you're going to add an anomaly event, do those of us who don't like them a favor and let us finally and truly turn the things off, would you? Sure, why not? It would be nice to have a window to decide what events can happen. For example, if I don't like the Pirates event, I can disable that event from eer occuring. However, the events that I don't disable might not come in anyway....but that doesn't mean they can't!
Force em to use max cpu. If all else fails, start a war!..... Orrrrr, if you are the super manipulator make the galaxy fall into all out war and watch them kille eachother whilst you eat popcorn! Divide and conquer is always a good tactic! If they still aren't a challenge, set their difficulty up to Ultimate and see if you still win....
A mysterious error has occurred in the universe. Everything in the universe disappears, and crashes into a strange new computer-god environment known as "Windows". Oh wait, Stardock has already implemented that one... Ouch man.....does Galciv2 support Macintosh for that matter? computer-god environment Actually, windo
It would be cool if espionage would have different types of attacks. EX: Minor pestering: just deleting small files to slow down empire research Hacking: Bring empire research to a standstill Industrial Havok: Loosening screws and minor things to make life miserable at industrial zones. (IE: Falling objects) Reduce morale slightly and a small production penalty Terrorism: Plant bombs at the structure to damage of destroy it. Attacking different areas will have
Does this work for both DA and DL? If it's for DA, does it work for version 1.6? Oops, DA only. But stil, does it work for 1.6?
Kryo, does your mod work for this new update? It seems to do well on default, but when I switch to your mod, it reverts to DA's old way of dealling with things. No issues here--framerates are not discernably different for me with regular ships and no mods versus blank-hull based ships and KHSM enabled. 70-75 FPS either way with several on-screen and the camera spinning like crazy, and my machine is barely mid-range by 2007 standa
