Neat/challenging ways to play: I made a thread about using farms as a useable and tradable resource. Food/farming would also be a necessity to a HAPPY empire. I hate the fact that farming is so flat. Instead of getting a bigger pop, why not get more food and give it to the current populace.....and those whiny bastards(pardon my french) should be happy they have food to eat,and not be the food. The colony rush would

Kryo, does your mod work for this new update? It seems to do well on default, but when I switch to your mod, it reverts to DA's old way of dealling with things. To be blunt, it lags on the mod, but it runs without slowdowns of default.
I'm eager to see how this update works........dowloading
You guys do know that this isn't the place to be discussing religious topics?
For the most part, the lag is fixed.. However, sometimes it goes into its old lag-act. Some kinks: -When a asteroid miner lands on asteroid -When you double click on a ship to give it orders, such as "Auto Survey" -When the survey vessel lands on an anomaly -Haven't tried this one, but I would suspect constructing a starbase would also slow the game down
JubJub15, If you have the latest build off of SDC, just extract this zip file to your GalCiv2\DarkAvatar folder. W00t! DA seems to be running smoothly, atleast through the infamous pop-up tech tree. I'm surprised that the slowdown was killed in one build. Good show! I sometimes wonder what this game would be like if you
Is there a way to use more than one mod at once? EX: I want to use Kryo's Mod and the Example Mod, can I do it?
If anyone would like to try a test build with the new options, here's a link: http://sd.stardock.com/carielf/da_1_6_rc1.zip How do we install this? Do we just run the program, or do we need to extract it somewhere in DA's files? (Or even in SDC's files perhaps?)
As I said, we are working on the memory issues. Do you guys know what is causing it? Just some FYI for us....
Here is the idea I had that I was working on for a while. I considered watering it down a little, but it might be more practical for the devs to do that, if at all. Note: This might make a better story for an expansion than as a mega-event. _________________ #9 Divine Rapture An entity claming to be a god shows up one day. There might be a problem with the new beta because i uninstalled it and my DA works like normall. so there might b something in there that might of been overlooked. im not sure because i don't no tht much about codes and that stuff. How did you uninstall DA and not install the beta? On my computer it always installs th
Naw, I don't think you get it. See, it's like a giant tactical battle, that's why the map has to be much larger. So you have more room to maneuver. Ships can always use their tactical maneuvers out in space--on the normal map. There are no seperate battles, it's all handled on the same map. Like homeworld, except bigger.
but it's essentially like The Thing Do you mean like John Carpenter's The Thing? if that is what your'e talking about, that would be a really hard thing to beat! (No pun intended)
TEST .....I'll have to use this more often!
A funny note: The beta/demo (The one you could get while it was being developed) of DA runs MUCH better than the upgraded one. Whats up with that? Couldn't stardock just go back a few steps and start over again?
Alright, firstly, the game maps will be made quite a bit larger, with much more distance between planets and stars and other solar systems. Then, it's essentially permanent tactical combat. Each ship can always shoot, essentially, or pull off whatever special moves you want. That way, you can always reinforce battles, always do hit-and-runs and more complex tactical maneuvers, and battles won't last a turn anymore. I agree that maps should be much, muc
Tactical combat needs to be everywhere! Assaults on starbases, ship to ship, planet to ship, army to army. Ground combat should include aircraft. It should also run on the ship weapons/defenses style. If an army relies on lasers, you equip your army with shields. Some customization of the types of units you put in your army. Throw away transports: Transports shouldn't be throw-aways. You should be able to send the troops down in pods and "refuel" the transport with more troops.
This sounds cool! To bad that the AI might not know what to do with a different playing stye....Stardock should of done this sort of thing, but they didn't.
Bump...
This isn't probably a Mega Event......It would be cool if you could add a new type of Constructor to the game which I'm thinking could be a Shipyard Constructor. How handy would it be if you could send off an Shipyard Constructor to some far off spot on a map and set up a Shipyard to start churning out ships. This kinda thing should be used for pirates....
Nope, no way you can make weapons for yourself.....unfotunately
In Galciv2 is there a mod that makes the Dreadlord hull styles selectable in the Race Creation Screen? I know there is Kro's Mod, but I want to use Dreadlord hull exclusively and use their jewelry if possible.
New ideas. Posting first one now. The second one needs some work. Doomsday Device Insert corny James Bond story line here... After the hero stops the doomsday device, he proceeds to confront to the villian. The villian, in his last act of evil, proceeds to transmit different versions of his doomsday device to all of the major races in the game. These versions are ones he never had the resources to build. The transmited bluepri
