I was a bit angry - I have 9 tokens and was expecting to dole them out in the next year or two as new games come along. The idea that I'm stuck with little more than the present catalogue, which if I wanted I'd have bought by now is... a little infuriating. But this, if true, makes all well again: We are also looking into giving people the option of turning their tokens into a "gift card" of sorts, that you can use towards anything we sell. However, this is going to take us

Then what does this mean?
I am usually able to over come that with one star system
How can you overcome it with one star system, or two, or ten? It's a percentage. You're saying fleet supply should cost more, even though it's already the most expensive upgrade in the game, by far. You're saying that it's "too fast to max out" when maxing it out fast is suicide. I'm trying to help here, but either I don't understand what you're saying, or you don

No, you don't seem to understand. You never overcome it. It's a percentage of your income. So when the fleet supply is costing you 19% (after the second upgrade) it costs you 19% of all your income, every second. So if you have 1 planet with 100 credit, 10 metal and 10 crystal coming in each second, the fleet supply is costing you 19 credits, 2 metal and 2 crystal every single second. Later ,when you have lots of planets and lots of income, it costs more. So if you have

All due respect to the team (and there is MUCH respect due), I'm a little baffled about the LRM buffs. The Javlis, and to a lesser extent the Assailant, were hands down the only ships worth building early game. They were the Big Issue, being spammed in every game (at least, by the players who didn't lose horribly). Now they're better. ...ubuh? Seems to me the Javelis needed nerfing down to the level of the other two (and then some), not the other two being buffed to the Javeli

If it was cheaper there then I'd buy a copy from Asia. So if they make it a $50 dollar game here, but a $10 game there, what's to stop me just buying it there and getting it shipped? Hence, games have to cost (roughly) the same everywhere. On the other hand, if you really can make $200 computers, why not just sell them to people in my country who have to pay $1500? You'd make a killing. Somehow I think you're exagerating both ends of the equation.

Uh...no. What's the second thing you're accelerating? The outer layer of the gun? Well what stops it from flying into space? The ship! So when that outer layer stops, it'll put exactly the same amount of force into the ship that you were trying to save. The only way you could counter the force of the projectile being fired one way would be to fire another projectile the other way. You can't fire the second thing and then stop it. When you stop it you get the force back. ...but it doesn'

Did you know, though, that each time you upgrade your fleet limit you are losing a chunnk of your economy? Each upgrade costs you about 9% of your income from then on. Credits, metal, crystal, all incomes reduced for the rest of the game. That makes fleet supply upgrades by FAR the most expensive in the game. And since capital ships are a huge drain on that supply limit...

Well even in combat they're worse. The damage is so low it's almost nothing, yet the slow turning speed of Assailants (whether to target human players intentionally taking advantage of the slow turn, or in any battle where targets get spread out), and the lack of ability to chase fleeing ships (against AI and Humans alike) would make charged missiles a disadvantage even if the autocast was fixed - remember it take a little while for the normal missiles to come back online, so retreating forces a

Agreed, and worse. From my post on 1 March: The Vasari Assailant (LRM) Frigate has, at level 4 military tech, the ability to toggle to charged missiles. This makes the assailant unable to move, turn at a vastly slower rate, in return for extra range and an attack that hits multiple targets. You would expect this to be a good thing. It isn't. The secondary attack does so close to no damage that it might as well be. As far as I can tell, the secondary, multiple target attack (th

Welcome. :) Oh, and a note regarding turret defences against the AI: as you lose turrests, build more behind the line. The AI doesn't target builders or turrets in progress unless they're closer than the current target. In this way, even if you're surpised in a system with only half a dozen turrets, you can still hold out for a very long time as long as they don't bomb the colony off the planet. Obviously players aren't so easily fooled, but it's fine for nailing AIs, and tha
What commonly happens is that you hit 30% likability can get a trade alliance, and then wind up killing a trade ship without realizing it because you can't get a cease fire until 40% to 50%.
Trade ships in interplayer trade routes are invulnerable. What you just said can't happen. It never happens. Why so many people keep claiming it does is baffling to me.
No matter how much i give the AI money, metal or crystal. 1. Some maps don't have pirates - just check the descriptions or play around with some. Gateway is a fun one that has no pirates. With a bit of practive you can send the pirates after the AI pretty much all the time (remember to sell stuff on the black market if you need quick cash). IMO pirates make a game easier, against the AI anyway. If you do get hit by pirates, the best defence is just a big clump of turrets on the planet edge closest to their entry point. Pirates just bl

Yeah, the only time this ever happens for me it's because I'm researching a milliion things in another screen. Remember that there's only one research queue. If you've got stuff queued up in military, then new stuff in civilian won't start until the previous is cleared.

Well, you can lock teams in the set up screen to stop the alliance breaking. That's permanent, though. If you want to play with the AI in such a way that it'll be allied to you until you choose to backstab them, well I'm not sure that cna be done, short of adding an easy AI so you can always complete missions as required by your ally. Basically, the AI isn't stupid. If you don't have teams locked it knows you're likely to attack it eventually. It'll keep sending you missions to

Please note that you can download the game to as many PCs as you like with your Stardock acount (just log into your account from your brother's PC and dowload as usual). A single serial (which is emailed to you) is good for two PCs in a LAN - just not to play together online. I bought two serials and it works fine on 4 PCs - I just logged into my account on each one and dowloaded the game. Right click on the game in the Stardock list to update the serial. Easy. Download is the

No, you need to keep doing missions. Since the missions mean killing the same person the AI wants you to, once you have an alliance just ask your ally to fight your enemy. Then the enemy AI and your ally will beocme enemies, and the next mission will be to kill the guy you're killing anyway. Otherwise just give youself an ally in the start up screen and lock alliances.

What's wrong with frigates? Frigates are your main fighting force. Also build turrets in the systems, nice and close together, near the planet and on the side the enemy will come from. That toasts pirates nicely. Anyway, if you have anything selected that can build fighters (hangers, carriers and most capital ships) you'll have an option in the far bottom right to tell it to build fighters / bombers. Just select the unit that can build fighters first.

Please note that the two most famous 4X games of all time, Civilisation and Master of Orion, didn't have capaigns and no-one thought anything of it. In a 4x game, every game is a campaign. It's long and involved, it has missions and plans and battles and so on. Write it up as a story as you go, if you like. ...but having said that, yeah, a campaign would be fun. comments from the developers show they do have a storyline in the works, and I expect a campaign will come out when they get
