In my most recent game the Jagged Knife event occurred where everyone loses a bunch of planets to a new minor race with everyone strength's. I quickly took back all of my planets which were all left completely undefended. After I stabilized my civ I went for the rest of their planets which was actually in the 30+ range. But they had now built a ton of defenses and were the top military power in the galaxy. I couldn't touch them. I also could not influence them b/c of their minor race s

I agree, why should pirates be stronger than the combined strength of multiple space empires. I don't mind that they are so powerful, what bugs me is how many of them there are. Although it is called a swarm so I guess it makes sense.
I was on the verge of being wiped put in my most recent game, I went very tech heavy from the start and because of this my military production was lacking. So I had good weapons just not much production capacity to create ships to use them. Thankfully for most if the game everyone liked me, so I was left alone. As the larger civ's started gobbling up the smaller civ's I knew my time was short. I had two options boost my military or start influencing nearby planets over to my side. I was a n
Well thats just a bummer. I had doubled the minor races in the game but now I can't use all of them. I like the idea of having a few of them randomly show up in a game. If anyone knows a way around this let me know.
That was the first place I checked and It doesn't help. It does not cover adding more minor races than the game originally had.
My question also concerns this, I changed out all the original minor races with my own and they work great but I also added a bunch more to the raceconfig.xml file and none of them ever appear in game. How can I change this? I want the game to recognize all the minors I added. Thanks in advance for any help.
Well thats no good. I would love for my Zerg race to show up as travelers from a distant galaxy.
I would like to know where they come from So I can alter them. I don't know where to look other than the said .xml file
I also noticed that even though I added more minor races to the raceconfig.xml file the game never chooses the extras I added for a game it stays with the 10 or so original minor races. How Can I change this?
I believe that is a minor race. I didn't realize that they couldn't colonize or invade. That kind of takes the fun out of it. I made a whole bunch of minor races thinking that if I upped their stats enough they would be formidable. Oh well its still fun to see the planet of the apes as a race next to the zerg. I up their stats enough though it would make it hard for any invading civ to wipe them out.
How would I go about doing this. I want the have all the minor civ's be aggressive like the normal civ's
I didn't see them in there. I see the minor races that start a game but not the ones that arrive mid game.
I want to mod the minor races that show up later in the game Like the Vegans. Where is the XML file for them?
I enjoy naming my race the undead that way I can use artwork from warcraft. It also fits well with my warmongering ways. The undead shield/symbol from warcraft 3 works well as a planet ownership icon. Plus it gives me an excuse to name my planets after wow locations and my ships after wow items and weapons. The Undead Horde have conquered the galaxy once again.
