Here's a very old pic of Elemental... based on recent screenshots it's evolved quite nicely. Ancient eye candy for the Elemental community. :)
The game’s graphics engine (i.e. the MAIN graphics) won’t go into beta until January 2010. But to give you an idea of how far things have gone already let’s take a look:
You left out one of the screenshots... what about this one: https://www.stardock.com/stardock/elemental.jp
From my experience the Gigabyte boards have cheap CPU mounts. My first Gigabyte board almost broke its CPU mount because instead of three teeth on each side for connecting the CPU fan there was only one. One of my systems is using a Gigabyte board now, but if you're not using the stock CPU fan then you may want to replace the CPU mount.
Awesome Stuff !
Upload them to Rapidshare, add a link to your post. That's easy enough.
Here's the problem with using other locations: 1) These free download locations all have different expirations such as rapidshare has a 90day time limit for unaccessed files thus maps, mods, and utilities will gradually be lost with time. 2) If one of these other 3rd party download locations goes out of business
Those other sites also use prepackaged third-party forum software. In addition to everything else, we'd have to write a whole new system in from scratch since we use our own system. While I'm sure there's some pains involved with providing better forums this should be a constant longterm goal.&nbs
Hosting the files becomes a liability issue so we would have to moderate the attached files. The liability due to a virus distributed compared to an image someone finds offensive is quite vast.
Yes as mentioned in the original post, when someone creates a game map, game utility, game mod, etc., etc., it's beneficial for the community to have a single trusted location for downloading these files.
I'm no longer experiencing the issue, I'm guessing one of the updates for Ready to Play resolved the issue for me.
I searched the current list of forum issues and haven't found this topic, I appologize if the topic has already been discussed. Currently there's no method for adding attachments in the forums. I've been on other game forums where attachments are allowed and believe this feature would be appreciated by the community as well. It's very useful having a single trusted location where gamers can provide not only a topic describing their game map,
I think the beta will be fun because of the bugs. The company where I'm currently employed will have bi-yearly software bug hunts for their business server software and I actually enjoy finding bugs.... especially major bugs you believe nobody else has found!! I've participated in these bug hunts even when my current pay level means I'm doing it for free, but I've always won a money prize. Perhaps I'm just twisted.&nb
You just argued against yourself
Actually the original discussion was regarding whether a channeller should be allowed to respawn after dying which leaned towards the discussion of channellers being a supercombatant as not a viable strategy. My posts have referenced dominions which shows it does work and my last statement merely says it will need beta testing.
While there can be 32 players max in a game, it would be suicidal IMO to have 32 people playing a multiplayer game. A bit of maths - even if all battles are auto resolved, it will take say an average of 5 minutes per turn later in the game x 32 means you would be waiting over 2 and a half hours between turns. And the game will last hundreds of turns.
As mentioned by <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl1
But you're making assumptions about how quickly an essence-hoarding channeler will gain power. For all we know, a channeler who spends his essence immediately might be nearly the equal of the channeler who hoards it at the beginning of the game; maybe it'll take time for the advantages and disadvantages of hoarding vs. spending essence to really manifest in significant ways. And presumably the defender will have some sort of advantage,
