Reply to Ally question in Game Talk GalCiv2 Forums

I have two questions about alliances: 1.If I am allied with another race, and somebody declares war on me, does the race I am allied with automatically join the war on my side? 2.Is it possible to suggest another race to ally with someone else? I mean in the same way as I can suggest "Attack..." or "Make Peace..." in diplomacy screen.
