you answered your own question. You have to uncheck the box, so that the compenants stay. But trying to tell what the compenants are can be a chore.

A sensor can be quite useful for spotting the enemy before they spot you. Then you are the attacker, which is always a bonus in a battle. One ship in a battle group with a sensor can be quite helpful.
Play with 1.1 beta 4 and you will see the differences between the races.... I played Civ 4 for 6 months, and the same could be said for that game, that after a while all the races are the same, just as you have said here. If you have not given the game a chance, which it seems you have not, and tried playing different races, and adjusting the bonuses, and changing the political affiliation to suit your play style, you would see that each
Get that economy up and running fast. Without gold pressed whatever, you can not finance your military or research. A farm changes your pop cap on colonies from 5 billion, to 11 billion people or more. double your pop, double your tax income, increase your influence, increases your tourism income....that farm is worth billions of gold pressed whatever. Find and mine a moral resource, and happiness is not a problem. Having the 25% population growth at
IF your defenses are so week you have to defend on the planet, you are toast. Pick those pesky attackers off before they arrive, and don't waste valuble realestate on usesless planet defenses. Be the first to build the Triquin training center, and be the one invading.
I downloaded beta 4, started a new game, and have had no problems. I did read that some of the old saves would not work with the new version.
Again, not a bug, but a misunderstanding of the game mechanics. The small frieghter is run by corporate sponsors, and you recieve an income from the trade route each and every week, not just when the frieghter arrives at the planet. so speed means nothing. You get more income each week when the mini frighter is farther away from the home world, and less on the return trip. The only advantage to loading a frighter with engines, is to get the long trade
Incorrect sorting ascending and decending when clicking on the top bar of the colony screen. What is being displayed, is not what is being sorted. When production is moved from social to military, both the social column and military column sort as if nothing was moved. Also, numbers in parenthsis sort in order as if no parentisis where there.
If you check your trade route stats each turn, you will see that when the route is first established, ie farthest from its home world, the route will be worth the most. As the mini freighter moves close to home each turn, the income decreases each turn until home. Watch for another 20 turns, and you will see the route income increase.
In my current the Drengin, say we know what you are about to do, so it is not limited to minor races. They also said, since my military advisors are not very intelligent, there is nothing we can do about it. Now they funny part, I am the Earth alliance, I am friendly with the Drengin, and at war with the Altarians, and just passing through the drengin territory. Actually massing ships around a Drengin solar system, where he has a lot of flee
Naw, the trade routes from other civilization should stay, just as they do in the real world...where do you think all those arms come from, and the food and goods to make the captured planet happy?
Great game, and awaiting the next offical patch.... I also liked the civ series, and I did play Civ4 for 6 months...but it is lacking the one more turn...I could turn it off and go and do something else. G2 keeps me up till 2 or 3 am....playing, totally oblivious to the time passing. This game is more addictive than SMAC, (Sid meyes alpha centari), which I loved, and still play. Keep up the good work. Now if the forum s
Heard about G2 on Civ fanatics web sight. Looked good, so I bought it. Enjoy the game, and eagerly awaiting the offical 1.1 patch.
Buyer beware....It is up to the buyer to decide who and when he will purchase a game. If you make an assumption that direct from the publisher will be cheaper, and then find out later that you are wrong, you have no one to blame but yourself. Stardock sold the game to the retailers at "x" price. The retailers are free to charge what ever retail price they want. They are not bound by the MSRP. They can even choose to sell the game for less than they pai
Played for 6 hours, then complains about crashes, does not tell us which version he has, and claims to run an up to date system....hum I run an old system, stable, that plays the game great, have had NO crashes, after 14 hours of steady playing. The only flustrating part is the alt tab takes forever to come back to the game, but it does. Celeron 2.0, 1.5 g memory, windows xp, geforce fx5700 video card. This is not a beta ver
Starbases are a major pat of the game, do not remove them, but instead teach the AI how to use a starbase, how to upgrade a starbase, and how to value a starbase. I find the AI building many starbases, but rarely upgrades them. Now I see the use of a starbase to extend your ships range, I have used that to reach a resource across a large universe. But the spamming of starbases by the AI is rediculous. I am looking forward to playing version 1.1.
Depending on the grouping of your planets, one star base can cover 3 to 5 planets. Build an econ starbase early, upgrade it and start trade routes from those planets. Helps keep the economy rolling. Also build a factory, then the trade building, then lab, then happiness helps to keep the economy on an even keel.
If you have purchased the game, then you get access to all the updates, by using the serial number. This is a form of copy protection, for those who did not purchase the game, but are using an illegal copy, can not directly download the patch. Now yes their friend and fellow conspirotor, can download the patch, and then distribute, oops give, the cnew copy to their friend. $40.00 for a game that is supported, and does not install "stealth" copy protect
When you go to war, you have to change your economical sliders to adjust your society to a war footing that can support the war. Look carefully at what the AI has built on the planet, and make changes to the infrastructure to fit your style of play. Many times the AI has built the planet up totally unrelated to the bonuses that are available on that planet. I have not taken a planet from the ai yet, that I have not had to make changes to the planet.</f
Every now and then I have one ship, that will not add to a fleet, it will create a fleet by itself, and I can not add any other ship to it, no matter what my logistics is. That ship is sent to a planet to never be seen again. The I never have the problem again during that game.
perfect, oly 512 meg memory? Windows uses almost all of that to run the operationg system. Go and buy another 512, or even 1 meg of memory and enjoy the game. Many problems will go away with a purchase of less than $100 us dollars. Anyone trying to run current level pc games on a windows machine with 512 memory is going to have troubles. There just is not enough elbow room for the game to run smoothly.
