*CLAP CLAP* Indeed, another breath of fresh air from Stardock!
BlackSmokeDMax
Congrats on a great beta start. It really is a solid game already! Expectations are enormous now, release should be a killer game!!
I see there is an update button in game. Does this mean we will be getting updates in game, or will they always be downloads from the stardock page (or stardock central whenever you release that)? Not a real big deal either way during beta, just curious.
Sheesh, you could have had a job in Mr. Rogers neighborhood; Speed Delivery!
Well, to be fair, back then it was clear. You are correct they probably should have been more clear at this time. But as LightofAbraxas stated, there is just no way to know that you pre-ordered from another site, when all you were getting was a box in the mail. Btw, I think the special edition of E:WoM was just stuff in the box that was different/extra. Don't remember there being any extra items in-game or anything like that.
The download is not finishing correctly, most likely. As someone stated in another thread, try using a download manager, especially when downloading large files via http (which is the case here.) As for recommendations, can't help you there, haven't used one in YEARS. Think the last one I used was GetRight, but have no idea if that is good/bad/terrible/existent these days. Probably try a search on the term download manager, and go from there. Or hopefully, once the servers are a littl

Maybe pre-ordering through Amazon put me in the back of the line
I believe you are correct. The pre-order being talked about is directly from Stardock which gave us beta access to E:WoM the first go around. Amazon's pre-order isn't quite the same thing.
Have 2 downloads going, about .5 MB/s here on my work connection (that is about maxed for this crappy connection), also used Logmein to start my home computer downloading it, getting about 4 MB/s there. Hell it's probably already done, haven't checked since I started both of them, but for sure it'll be waiting for me when I get home.
Whee! Downloading!
Does Stardock still have the bandwidth for this now that Impulse is gone? We're not going to see dial-up speeds due to demand are we?
I'd swear a couple months ago, Brad said they still have a massive pipe for bandwidth. But of course, I am not positive, nor can I say whether or not things have changed even if I am correct.
Was Frogboy talking about area of control on the strategic or tactical map? I assumed he was talking about tactical combat.
That is what I thought as well. But these other questions have got me thinking that something on the strategic map would be cool to at least think about doing as well. Assuming of course, that we are correct in assuming he was talking about the tactical only.

I don't want them to settle near me but I don't want to kick them out frequently because I want to make friends, not enemies all the time...
Thinking about this myself, I have a question. If we repeatedly kick the same person out, I realize they will start getting mad, but will the AI also have them stop entering so often to try not to provoke u
I'm already repeatedly hitting F5 on the download page
LOL, are you also carefully reading each line every time to make sure you aren't missing it, like I am doing?
As long as no idiot defends the US ver of Being Human as being better than the ORIGINAL. Be honest...they have NEVER improved on an original.
Agreed, except for All in the Family. (not titled that in the UK, but based on a show there) edit: unless you were talking specifically about SyFy(damn, I hate that name switch) and not Hollywood in general, in which case I completely agree.

Brad, you missed the perfect opportunity to "Hill Street Blues" this one. Should have ended this post with a "Hey, let's be careful out there!" Btw, this post has really got the blood pumping!
the point imo is that there is NO single player or multi player game there is nothing like that there is A GAME, stat a game should work single player AND multi, always
Well you enjoy that in your world, in the real world there ARE still single player games, whether you want to admit it or not.
Got an email around noon today (1/18), but it was just saying that it will be available at around 3 EST tomorrow. Didn't get a serial or anything yet though. Guess the serial may automatically get added as well though. FYI: Elemental [Pre-Order] (Download + Retail Box) on 9/17/2009
(1) FE has over 3 different types of loot: Sausage, Gold, or Sausage (2) FE supports both 640x480 resolution with 16 colors OR 320x200 with 256 colors (3) FE copy protection is that the player is always connected to our server playing ala remote desktop. So there is no code on your machine. (4) Relate to #3, max FPS is 10 frames per second. (5) Music is handled through an optional Ad Lib sound card.

Alright, finally went Imp! Started a Sith Sorceror on Kaas City, name is Qualkech (yep, random named it, but I'm sure I'll have 5 alts starting with Qual in no time), hope to see all you guys in there. bonscott: yes, you have to be the same (either Republic or Imperial) to group, or hell, even to speak with another person.
Quoting Leo in WI, reply 36Kinda forgetting Diablo aren't you? Diablo's story was lame. Very lame. A fourth grader could write that.
Wasn't making a point of the story. Which by the way I agree with you. More of the point where you said all they did before WoW was RTS, which Diablo clearly isn't.
Blizzard only did RTSs before WOW. Story is not as important in RTSs as in RPGs. Hence Blizzard's "awesome" story work for Starcraft/Warcraft was good in comparison to other RTSs but would flop with RPGs. Bioware, on the other hand, has always done RPGs so they know what they are doing.
Kinda forgetting Diablo aren't you?
Yes. Yes. Maybe. (It'd still have to be a game that interests me) x2 - game at home and on my computer at work (it's nice being the boss) edit: also my laptop is win7 x64, so make that x3, although I don't game often on it, when I do it is 4x games only
What about space combat? Is it any fun or just tacked onto the rest of the real game?
Feels a bit tacked on. Granted, I have only done the Fondor mission. Have heard Bioware is planning on expanding a lot of the game in the coming years though, not just more content, but more "game" as well. I'm imagining that is something they might up the ante on in the long run.
