PLEASE give jewelry a basic description of what it is. There is no point what so ever in a multible descriptions like: "Customize how your ship looks visually with Extras". Still, thumbs up for improving the ship editor...

I think I'll give it a try then. Im just a bit worried about finding servers (without idiots) here in EU. But I guess I can play on US servers if there is anti-lag... Ps. Not that EU players are stupid, just fewer players available.

Dont be like that. A game can be both. If it wasnt somewhat realistic, then spaceships wouldnt be nessesary. People would just fly around naked in space, shooting lasers out their fingertips. So a degree of realism is always needed...

Sounds very nice, but I dont get what Steam and Unreal has to do with each other. Isnt Steam a device for streaming Valve products? Anyway, I've played BF2, nice graphics, but otherwise completely unpolished. And I hate the amount of aerial dominance in that game... So I might give this game a try. Tell me though; does this game incorporate any kind of anti-lag system? I usually stay away from games where your bullets hit 200

Well then the question is why they chose such a design in the first place. Its soo irritating... you rotate a hardpoint... then try to place your jewelry - only to realize that you need to rotate in another direction. So you rotate the crap out of some poor hardpoint. I just hate it... bad design choice.

The ship designer really isnt that easy to use. Its easy to get started with, but as soon as you need to make something big and complex it falls somewhat apart. 1: The hardpoints... WHY is there a feature that allows you to rotate them? Why not just rotate (in mid-air) the component you are placing? I hardly ever rotate hardpoints, because its unreliable and not fun. 2: The jewelry needs to be sorted into categories. Finding stuff is a

I specialize like you do. Call my planets Factory Planet 1,2,etc. and Research Planet 1,2,etc. However I do have some mixed planets with something from from both sides, so if I lost a specialized planet, I wouldnt be so crippled. So all in all, your strategy is fine IMO.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but this has gotta be the most confusing forum I've ever visited. Can you mod the "humorous" ramblings from that science robot, to be less... "humorous"? Im at work currently so I have no way of checking this myself. Thx Ps. Anyone dislike stuff like monty python quotes in a TBS space game? I have yet to actually find any of it amusing to the least...

If you wanna mod AI you could check out Dawn of War... but thats an RTS - dont know if thats your thing. The AI there is written in Lua. Anyway, just thought you might wanted to know.

Well Im taking forever in the first campaign mission. The drengin are going beam, and that seems to be my only option too. But I have no option for researching shields.. only armor. So my question is: Is part of the tech tree locked/invisible in the campaign? Thx

If you have problems with the tutorial videos, here is a workaround. I myself had a wierd stutter in those videos (my specs are probably too low). Anyway navigate to: - http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm and download "The Rad Video Tools". - When installed you can open the tutorials by clicking the .bik files in: \Galactic Civilizations 2\Gfx\Tutorials Hope that helps you out.

IMO its still confusing researching something like Ion Drives. Some of the other techs, at least, give you an idea of what that tech is increasing (ex. miniturization: +10). So when researching something that doesnt, one wonders if that tech does anything at all, or if its just a prerequisite to a new line of techs.
