"There have been several large botnets “taken down” as a result of heightened Law Enforcement activity and prosecution. This has resulted in much less spam (90% less, in fact), and fewer attacks, but the number and rate are still alarming." Eh? 90%? Sources, sir? It's true that Rustnock botnet has been taked down, but 90%? Any law enforcement activity cannot solve the problem long-term, because the poorly administered end-user machines are just

The Kohinim Council has expected, and in fact welcomes the Pangaean declaration of war. Prolonged peace makes men soft, bellies full and bulging, hands weak and feet unsure. Pangaean satyrs and centaurs may not fully realize that dreaming about victories while feasting and drinking and kissing maenads is not quite the same as earning them on the field of battle, all covered by blood, their and their enemies' mixed together. <span style="color:

The venerable Kohenim Council would like to congratulate esteemed Hanan'el on defending the Arena Champion title. The tournament was a bit smaller this time; in fact, save for courageous Mr. Offering, who kindly participated on behalf or our northern Lanka neighbors (thank you, Lanka, and thank you, Mr. Offering, at least in memoriam), no nation mustered enough courage to nominate a champion that would challenge mighty Hanan'el in single combat. However,

Well, I don't want to be the guy who spits into the cauldron, and I know it's "just the beginning", but I honestly expected more changes to the tactical combat. It's the core of the game, and without spicing it up, the game will be always lacking something.

Well, I just have a very unpleasant magical accident. That's what I like about this game - dabbling with the darker aspects of magic can lead to quite dire consequences. On the bright side, it's the first time I've ever faced horrors on the battlefield! (I suspect it's not the last time, though).

Ad turn time limit - I am fine with whatever you guys come up with. I don't mind longer turns (I don't rush anywhere), but there is slight danger that too long turns will make the game too tedious and players will start dropping out. But since we mostly send our turns much earlier than we have to, I don't think this will be an issue. And I agree that stales are best and should be avoided if possible - everyone should have a chance to send their turns properly in an

In my opinion, there is no point in forcing anyone making bad moves just to "help the noobies". As far as learning goes, it's the same think as with chess - if you don't play the best moves, you just nurture feeling of false safety in the new players, and help build false self-confidence that is bound to be shattered later when other players will move against him without these artificial restraints. Moreover, you are twisting the balance of the game, because rush nations need
So, I guess I screwed up my orders, causing that battle to go differently than intended. Still should be able to recover from it, however. If I have a commander and squadron that I want to basically hide in the castle for a turn, rather than engage the enemy immediately, what command should I give them? I thought "patrol" would do this, since the commander didn't really have many other options. This did not have the desired effect,

The Council is sorrowed by the recent death of one of our most prominent masters of the Matters Arcane Dagan, who finally succumbed to a serious illness and old age. Despite losing his voice, he kept on studying and researching till the and, faithful to his only lifetime passion - magic. Last Rites will be performed by one of the Councilmen himself to honor the service Dagan has performed for our kingdom.

The Council has heard the news that came across the Bay, and will honor the memory of the fallen Abyssian kingdom as customs dictate - with prayers and incense. The Abyssian flame comes from the fiery depth of the world itself - it can grow dim at times, but it can never be extinguished altogether.
Punish the victim, is what you mean. That's just brilliant. By the way, Islam follows a similar philosophy when its in regards to rape of the female. Much needs to be defined and clarified should we wish to punish the victims. -.-
No, you just don't get it. The penalties would actually help, because core of these problems are managers who think security is an afterthought and

EA, eh? Those guys smell money. I can picture their management thinking: "Hey, why spend badzillions of cash for development modern, gfx-intensive dumbed down games, when it seems there is a consumer segment that actually prefers the older, non-dumbed down variety? No risk, no investments, just sweet profit. Get it going!"

Let it be known to all that the Kohenim Council revokes the non-agression pact between the kingdom of Hinnom and Ermor. In three turns from now, all men, giants and beasts able to stand in battle lines are called to raise their hands, weapons, paws, tentacles and claws against the decadent followers of the new, jealous and malevolent god, whose perverse teachings are a mockery to our Grigori ancestors and whose intolerant and twisted followers swarm across the la

Excellent analysis, sir, I agree! Population limits felt like someone hitting me in the legs all the time while I try to run. Aside from whether this will work or not (or whether it makes intuitive sense, which it clearly doesn’t) - well, you can rationalize that with increasing number of studies, you must pay extra cost for the increasing complexity in the form of scribes/administrators/clerks/bureaucrats/whatever. It happens to companies and states, it should happen t

Question about the rules of the game - when building castles and labs and temples, does it matter if I have a lonely guy doing it, or a whole army? Common sense indicates armies should build faster, but castles have fixed build times in the manual. I know for sure that in sieges, the speed of destroying/repairing the walls depends on the size/quality of the armies. A little off-topic - be sure to try a new game called Frozen Synapse. I found it to be absolutely marvelou

Welcome aboard, MC. I suspect you just inherited a bunch of moderately starved mercs and a giant bookcase with countless tomes on the most esoteric subjects. Make good use of it! Concerning Agartha - he is building an autistic kingdom in the very south-eastern corner. You must look hard though - it's easy to miss, most of it is underground ;-)
