Thanks a lot, Seafireliv. Much appreciated. I'll take a closer look at the dlc you suggested, starting with Mercenaries.

Greetings, I was wondering what DLC veterans would recommend I get to complement Crusade in GalCiv3. Back in the day I played a lot of GalCiv2, loved it and now I'm hoping to be mesmerized by this game as well. Maybe Crusade is enough to start off with, but I'm curious about what DLC you folks feel add the most flavor and immersion to the game. Thanks!
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is my favorite with Galactic Civilizations 2 coming in close second. FE:LH and Stardrive are both excellent and I'm currently busy exploring and learning them. I have a very hard time imagining that I will ever again enjoy a turn based game as much as HoMM 3, but I hope I'm wrong about this. :)
+1 OP
Thanks guys, very useful info. I'll have a look at the settings and be more careful with the lairs in my next game.
Hey everybody, I got LH the other day and quite like it so far and despite my scant experience of FE, this version seems a lot more immersive and interesting. So yesterday I sat down to play my first serious game of LH and I was doing well when monsters suddenly surrounded my cities in hordes. Skeletons were everywhere! :) One town was destroyed by a spider whose den I had probably let my town expand to, and about the skeletons.. no idea. Could it
Keith Turner at Space Sector has posted a review of Fallen Enchantress. It is very nicely written and I think that those of you who are on the fence about FE, like I am, should take a look. I find that reviews on Space Sector are always very thorough and non-biased, and you can tell that there is true passion in their work. Enjoy! http://www.spacesector.com/blog/2012/10/elemen

I keep crashing over and over as well, but I've only had one minidump created, albeit at 0 byte for some reason. A few times there has been a runtime error window but mostly there is just a sound and the game crashed to desktop. For me, the beta is utterly unplayable. All drivers are up to date and my hardware is all of the latest generation. I can play Diplomacy on all the highest settings wihtout ever crashing. Hopefully you can sort this out because I have a feeling tha
Painful but I'm moving up.
Greetings! The game crashes on me a lot with the second beta patch, I love the game, I want to help.. I have all the newest drivers installed... everything is tip top. The game just crashed to the desktop for the 300th time a minute ago and I thought I'd save the report that XP generates for you to look at if you like. Is there an email address I can mail "d355_appcompat.txt" to? <
I'm experiencing a LOT of crashes lately, but I'm also using beta patches so I won't go berserk on the forum - yet However, I guess there is a lot to be done before 1.1 is realeased since I had 30 crashed during one and the same game. All my drivers are constantly updated since I'm a complete geek about keeping my computer in good shape. I really hope the game wi
You got me. Must be it...
Thanks for the input folks! I'm going to try a game with random AI intelligence on Painful tonight and that might upset the balance of power that I've come to notice in my games. In the game that I mentioned in the original post only the Thalans and Iconians remain beside the mighty Galactic Chicks. The Iconians were able to stay out of wars and slowly build up
In the games I've played on Tough and Painful, a few races seem to stand out in terms of how well they manage. The Drath, Drengin, Torian and the Thalan always seem to do pretty well. On the other hand, the Yor and the Iconians seem to always to fairly bad. The Terrans, Altarians, Acreans and the Korx seem to do alright but never great. While I appreciate how the races feel distinctly different from each other, I'm wondering if it's possible that they'
*bump* someone, say something!
I was not sure where to put this post, but here it is nevertheless. I'm currently playing a game vs Painful (6 opponents on a medium map) and there's one thing that I've noticed throughout my later games: The AI attacks my fleets with no regard for my militairy starbases and of course I crush it like a bug every time. However, it does try to sneak in and destroy them and that is smart behavior. It can actually work really well once the AI h
I would enjoy it a lot since I am a sucker for analyzing gameplay. I do suppose it would take ages to watch a game, but I would be just fine with that.
Greetings, I've been playing the game for a while now and I just love Galciv2! Now, I was just wondering if it would be possible to implement a feature so you can save your favorite games and subsequently share them with the community? This would be awesome imo! My 5 cents, Nemojohan
I've been playing the game for a few weeks when time's allowed it and I have to say you've done an AMAZING job! I never thought I'd get this hooked again to a turn-based game since the original Civilizations and Sim City. The game crashed now and then despite my having upgraded stuff all over the place, but that's not a problem since it's very seldom. Plus, the overall greatness of the game
I represent the mighty Intergalactic Chicks, lead by Cassandra Sweetlips, and I'm here to tell you that we are for the first time about to win a game played on Tough. The Drengi is putting up some stiff competition, but we're sure that female logic will prevail in the end. We excell at military and social production and tend to focus a lot on sneaking in with transport ships and snatch planets away just
