There's actually a game in a similar vein to Baldur's Gate currently in production by an Indie game development group made up of some of the top modders in the BG2 community. There isn't any set date for a release as of yet, but given the individuals involved track record I don't doubt that it will be released eventually. http://www.planewalkergames.com/ I know I'll be picking up a copy when it does come out as I know it will be a quality game.

I'd like an option that completely turns off the UI. Similar to the existing cinematic mode, but not include the empire icons over selected ships and hide the top and bottom interface bars as well as hiding the empire tree. Make it mappable to a key (not mapped by default). This would be great for making you-tube or similar videos to help show off the game, or even just sitting back and watching as your fleet engages in epic battles.

As there isn't a list of planet bonuses, I'm not sure if this has been done already or if it is even possible. I'd like to request a planet bonus, "Sector Capital". This would act like a mini-capital planet with higher allegiance and causing the surrounding planets to have higher allegiance. Preferably, this wouldn't be as good as a normal capital (say 70-80% starting allegiance), but would help out on some of the huge games. It'd preferably something that would show up on th

Would it be possible to include the weapon/engine/defense/modules as jewelry pieces as well. There's another mod in the libary which turns all non-jewelry components invisible (to help with custom hull models) and it'd be nice to be also able ot use standard models and decorate them with normal components as well.

I have to say, I did enjoy playing a hotseat game in Moo2. Another multiplayer mode I've enjoyed for turn-based games is Email play. Each person can play at their leisure and get the most out of each turn without driving the other person up the wall waiting. A combination of other multi-player options, and being able to switch over to an email game is also a nice feature I've seen done before.

Remove hardcaps in the game engine on things like number of worlds, map size, number of techs, civilizations, etc, and pretty much any other place where you'd have a hard cap on. From previous modding experience, I know that engine hardcaps on the number of slots available is one of the most restrictive and annoying things when modders want to be extra-creative Also, turrets for ships and weapons platforms would be another cool thing to see And, if it isn't already possibl

I've had a fair bit of experience with modding and modding communities, particularily with the Baldur's Gate 2 modding communities. One of the issues that seem to crop of frequently when people want to do something is "Well, we'd like to do X, but its hardcoded". Much of the higher level modding ends up involving lots of little tricks to get around hardcoded features. In order to make Galactic Civilizations more mod friendly and to extend its lifespan accordingly, I have a few suggestions.
