what a shame but we are looking forward to the return of the game soon. you will have to abandon your parents huh? just how old are you? amazing writing skills.....
Thanks Quixen-I will certainly do that sometime soon: for now I am being wowed by Arilias's masterpiece (kinda makes me think 'there's no way that I could compete with that....') But thanks anyway pal
superb as always Arilias-shame there arent more posts from you though lol
Arilias I would endorse people's earlier comments about popularity-it really isnt important at this stage-what works for me playing on difficult with intelligent aliens is a real push for the economic advances whilst keeping a weather eye out for basic military research-when you have the Galactic Stock exchanges and lots of trade routes then hammer the military (providing you dont have the rapacious Drengin near you that is) A strong economy drives a strong military-it cant be the other
can any of the Paragon people help me with these bugs?
I have 2 strange bugs: when i start my loaded game all my ships are on a course back to 1 of the planets in my homeworld even though i hadnt set them on such a course when i saved the game... the 2nd bug is that my Terran constructors have all changed configuration and now look like the core cargo ships with no modules....strange
loving the new Drengin angle Arilias...
lol-thanks General-i enjoyed writing it-not as good as some of the stories on here but enjoyed it nonetheless
Postscript: Well it was basically those pesky Drengin: I was too close to them but had been lulled into a false sense of security in the early part of the game by my superior economy and military and also by the fact that initially they seemed as though they were in fear of me (they were even paying me an unasked for tribute at one stage for god's sake! ) The 2nd mistake was to con
good job Arilias-did you work out the situation re posting images? And yes your flagship will get back eventually-they may end up on the other side of the Galaxy far beyond their range but what will happen is that they put the crew into deep freeze to save on life support and the ship will auto-pilot back to Earth... Oh and good job on the story-the best i have read by some stretch
But had it lasted? Of course not. All 3 races, Terrans, Drengins and ourselves launched into frantic re-armament-it was a desperate race against time and one which I knew, with our decimated economy and scratch Fleet, we would lose. The declaration when it came in April of 2232 came to me like a blessed relief. I had been in a personal hell all of my own as I had prostituted my race to Drengin demands for further payments. My true shame came not then but later when I had then betr
December 2245 New Iconia Festivity, gaiety and merriment so unusual for this race was nonetheless all around. I suppose that I should celebrate the destruction of the Evil Drengin Empire by our Guardians, The Iconian Refuge, but in truth all I feel is empty inside. Yes, I have Gad: we have made something of a home for ourselves here on New Iconia: cosseted by the never-ending generosity of our hosts. And yes I have some standing here but how can any of that fill the space tha
'Senats'sos and Commanders we have been brought here tonight to witness the 1st battle between our new force of Medium Class Tiger Snakes and the Drengin Fleet. I have managed to assemble a force of 6 Tigers under the command of Lieutenant Commander Saaf L'okol and I am vectoring them in on the Drengin Battle Group currently menacing our planet Python here.' We studied the map intensely-the coming battle would give us some indication of whether the Drengins could be slowed for long e
'My Lord' Per Thuisi interrupted my musings 'My Lord have you heard what I have been saying?' I looked up and shook my head sheepishly-I smiled: a tired smile that barely reached my eyes. 'Forgive me Admiral-please continue' Per Thuisi indicated the map with his laser pointer, 'We have no less than 3 Drengin Battle Groups operating within Mambani Space-there are 2 more lining up 3 parsecs to our 12-they have been picked up by the new scout screen that deployed last week.' It had been a grim war so far and the strain of fighting a rearguard action against the rapacious Drengin was clearly starting to show on the Admiral's features. I would have been concerned for my friend if I wasn't so exhausted myself. These days snatching 1 or 2 hours sleep between alerts and our hurried journeys down the snake tunnels to the Situation Chamber, was all that any of us could do. On the Political front I had tried everything: we had increased our military production,

how u doing with sending to someone Arilias? I had a similar problem which i got round by limiting the size of the post to about 3/4 A4-try that Good luck
Arilias on the picture front copy the link from Image shack that says 'Direct' on the right hand side and put said image into the 'Insert Image' sub site when it comes up (the one on here with the mountain and the moon) Then you press ok and that will upload ur image when you post Hope that helps and keep up the wicked story
thanks Drew-will post the next installment soon
This is as good a story as i have read Arilias-a real humdinger-really looking fwd to the next post you will have a tough job ensuring no race is destroyed-in fact i wonder how you will achieve that in such a large galaxy?
yes that seems to have done the tric k-its the size of the posts-got it down to a size that it accepts the text and the images
