I'm playing the demigod on lowest possible settings, (except refresh rate at 70), and at that detail level there isn't ANY indication when somebody is about to teleport. Nor do I see the circle of fire. (Only by taking damage can I guess that I'm now standing in one). Got GeForce 6800 GT
Displaying any type of complex particles(like the tp or RoF effects) would slow the game to a halt on a min spec system like that. That is why they

"I'm finding that unless the 1st map (always conquest?) isn't small like Crucible, I have zero chance of beating it because my computer controlled allies will completely drop the ball and I can't constantly baby sit all lanes. To really drive the point home, I've been in situations where 3 enemy demigods will police me on my lane while 3 of my ally demigods will theorietically clean house against the 1 on the faraway opposite lane. Except that after a few seconds the enemy demigod will get do
theonlystd:
being able to change speed in game.
That is already in the game! ;p Use the - and = keys. It goes from 1x up to 8x, at least in SP. (RTFM FTW!) :p I'm pretty happy with most of the game, but I'd like to see diplomacy and pirates made a little more random and as everyone else has pointed out... PJIs need love. The AI tends to be very predictable in their diplomatic actions, and the missions could use a little reworking so
I agree with jcoven. Had your three hangars been loaded with bombers and not fighters, things would certainly have gone much differently. Add in a few turrets and repair hangar about mid-well, and you'd have maybe been unlucky enough to lose ~1k planet health before the bombers and turrets dusted off the frigs. For their cost, Siege Frigates are balanced as they are IMO. They can't cost what they do and be so fragile as to be a liability. As for PJIs, I think they are just a li
Stopped by the local GameStop last night (02-04-08) and they said Sins would be in tomorrow. I paid for a copy in advance then and there and I'm glad I did... today when I went in to pick it up, the guy said he only got the one copy in their shipment. And now it's mine! :CONGRAT: It's looking great so far after doing the tutorials. Thanks again, StarDock. :HOT:
Well... the prefs.ini file wasn't in "Documents and Settings\%username\My Documents\GalCiv2" for me for some reason. I searched for it and found it in "Documents and Settings\%username\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2". Deleting that prefs.ini file and starting the game resolved the issue for me though. Good Luck.
No problem. Lemme know if that resolves it. I'm sure if it's happened to us there are more people seeing this as well.
I had the same issue crop up after a CTD. Try this: "* Save games and preferences are stored under Documents and Settings\%username\My Documents\GalCiv2. You can edit the prefs.ini file in that directory to adjust the game resolution to custom values if the in-game detection doesn't pickup special modes that are supported. Prefs.ini will be regenerated the next time the game runs if you remove it." I still haven't gotten back to seeing 3d models for
