Yes it does, you can see this later on by looking at the new tech you are researching after the one you just completed, normally its half full already if you are very good at research!!

Dodgy!! It could be harmfull, then again it might not be that damaging. Just keep an eye on the indicator which shows how influenced your planets are. As long as they do not reach (4.00) then you are ok so do not need to worry much. Just imagine basically they are setting up a station to sell trainers and burgers and beam tv to your culture. Its not an agressive act but could lead to you losing control of your planets. Counter it

Hey kent henson. What has happened here is the planet you have taken over is producing a lot or has a lot of expensive structures on it. Normally a planet has a large population so it pays for the expense of manufacturing (which costs 1 billion per point) or for special buildings, when you invade it you slaughter everyone. Then the remains of your army become the population, this will mean it makes a loss initially. Basically you need

In my game the ai is usually pretty good at making fast ships. It depends who you face and what they have concentrated on. The drengin in my game have slow heavy ships, but with amazing armour ( i have projectiles) and wicked lazers. So even when i attack first im beaten. Also another race, i forget which has very fast ships, moving 7 or more. I think it depends on the enemies. Also if you have a massive advantage in any tech you will

Todd 77 to make a demand just select what you want from them and then click the trade button without putting anything in yourself. If you read the little speech at the bottom before you trade it will either say "Give us this or else!!" if you dont like them or "Please help us out by giving us this" if you do like them. It has worked for me lots. Though dont expect a culture just to give you things because they are losing. Often they re

Had this happen in my game but it wasnt a bug, it was an uprising. Pushed the whole map under its influence, any unhappy planets will then rebel to the new culture. Are you sure this was not what happened in your game? After a few turns it went back to normal, basically the end of the uprising

Just found another downfall to being evil In my game drengin ? the evil ones were kicking ass, so were the traders, korx. Then they had a fundamentalists revolution, where loads of planets from evil sides were lost. So basically everything everyone here was complaining about is in the game. The people saw how terrible these empires were

Initially you dont get less money, putting taxes high gives you a short term boost but loses you lots of people. I have not had a planet rebel as of yet Thankfully, but i just had an event in my game where almost all of the korx people rebelled into another korx rebel faction <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif" b

There is a retreat option already no? You can set it for your ships in the options you wallies I disagree with the option to select your target, as the whole point of putting a troop ship with a fleet is to protect it, and if you can target the troop ship it makes a mockery of the fleet, and would make it too easy to destroy the ai troopers.<b

Ai has fast ships in my game. They make sure they have powerfull fleets first and then upgrade to speed. They are usually moving 5 or 6 per go, which to me is pretty fast when mine are about 3-5. I think you guys have been unlucky or are very good at research.

something i noticed which did bug me a bit, though its not important. When you look at the planets and the squares you can build in some of them say "prairy" but are in the sea, etc. I think it would be more important to make the land squares right before the orbit of the moon! Ohh no, im being anal too

Its just like a gift, you can ask for money for nothing and they will give you it often if they like you. You are just getting more money from them by giving them some money. Sort of silly on your behalf really. EG they would give you 100 credits just for being their friends, but if you give them 100, they will give you 200!

bombardment is in. The attacking civ gets an automatic bonus to his attack rating for having "air supremecy" so this means the ships in orbit are supporting the invasion.

The ai doesnt know where the habitable planets are, but if you are playing as humans all the Ai's know where the planets are. They send colony ships out to the planets in the hope they find habitable ones. I have watched them do this, at first i thought it was cheating, till i saw it go to solar systems with no habitable planets in them. Basically all AI have steller cartography so know where all the planets are, i think it even explai

Best game i ever played was... hmmmm i think it was probably Medieval total war. Either that or spy hunter on the Atari, someone told me that if you played long enough eventually you drove to a town. In the town it turned into a new game where you walked around shooting people Cant believe that i actually believed the massive lier!

I think the surrendering is based on the culture similarities and if the people like each other. They also seem to surrender to the safest civ, eg the most peacefull or most powerfull. Or sometimes they surrender to your worst enemy just to spite you. This atleast, is what seems to happen in my games!

I noticed them never really building above a 10 billion population, but i think this actually helps them lots. They still seem to be able to outproduce me in most cases, and can set there taxes to a much higer average over the course of a game. That said i have not been playing that long so maybe im just rubbish.
