Isn't there an unoffical way to get hotseat multiplayer in the game though? I'm sure it was mentioned before that you can cheat and change to another civilization in the game and so switch back and forth. I don't know if that would work very well, but is a possibility. Charlie

Well whether the number is random or only appears to random isn't the point. I mean it means nothing to the player and makes it harder to keep track of which ship is which if your looking at a list. Also custom names adds more to the 'experience' in the game in the same way building your own ships does. Anyway, that's what I think... Charlie

Currently when you create a ship the computer just assigns a name based on the class name and a random number (such as Constructer563). This means if you want ships to have more memorable names you have to change each ship manually (and this gets pretty tedious pretty quickly). Would it not be a good idea to assign a text file to a ship class containing custom names so the computer would use those instead? Then if it got to the end of the list it could start again but this time name the ship wit

Why can't it be like Galactic Civilization I and Altarian Prophecy? In those games you could either start the original and the expansion separately (so the original would remain unaffected by the expansion). This convention has been used by many other games in the past also such as Warcraft III and the Frozen Throne, it would be great if Dark Avatar followed this method. Charlie

Well if you compare it to the Civilization series, the turns take up much more time (at the beginning each turn is many years). That makes sense for population growth, but it doesn't make much sense for unit movement (it takes five years to move a unit from one side of the city to the other?). The fact is, it's just a game. If they made it realistic, either the population would take the whole game to go up, or the units would zip around like flies. Gameplay trumps realism in my opinion... <b

I think one problem is that you don't know what the others are going to vote for. You might decide to compromise to at least pass some kind of law through, as opposed to no law getting passed. But if you don't know what others are voting for, you can't do that... Also, I don't like the idea how you can't influence what is voted for You may want to pass a law through allowing allies to use each others StarBases, but due to chance, it never co

I think the option should still be given for an even bigger galaxy. Its not difficult to implement and there will always be people who want to play on ridiculously large maps (like me ). Even if its a strain on even the top range computers, as Stardock have said with the graphics, the game should continue to get better as computers get better. There’s no reas
