Just an idea for making games easier and not having people leave all the time. In the game lobby, give the ability to set your status as host of game (away, ready, etc...) and include a countdown timer, such as "will be back in xx:xx". edit: oh, and if we could please have the connection information screen open by default and to the right of the lobby screen, that would be good.

Do you, by chance, have a Logitech webcam? That is common probelm with those. If so, look through the readme file in the demigod folder for solution. It has other trouble shooting ideas there too!
I was part of a 4v4 Regs vs Rooks game on Cataract abotu 2 weeks ago. At first, it was kinda of close, flags going back and forth, but when the rooks got boulder and towers, we completely dominated through map control, which led to a large level differential and the Regs couldnt keep up. Just putting it out there, the total rook hp vs reg hp was just silly and also i dont think the reg team was very coordianted. If the regs used mines combined with snipe w/ tracking,
Turning off your antivirus during play really helps (at least for me). Currently I use Avast, and disabling the Network Shield portion of that improves connection tremendously. Disabling the rest helps only a little more. I know nearly nothing about the technicals of netcodes or connections, so have no idea whats going on there. Just an observation.
I have had this mystery crash too. Staright to desktop, no message, nothing. I run Vista 32bit.
The game for the last 2 days has random lockups during gameplay that last from 10-30 seconds, ultimately freezing indefinately, where I need to shut down the game externally. Ok, here are all the files I know that can help (from the last attempt at playing, locked up permanently right after stronghold was destroyed): Debug.err http://prozombe.pastebin.com/m58d182ac DXDialog <a href="http://prozombe.pa
Sorry for double post, also included last two actions from demigod log file Every time I play Sedna, I get about 5 minutes into the game and then screen goes black and sound gets caught in a loop, no response from any input device, only thing can do is reboot system. Here is what the debug.err says: DebugMessage: Initializing the CVP. DebugMessage: WinHttpSendRequest() returned TRUE with code 0 (0x0) DebugMessage: WinHttpSendRequest() returned TR
I have new issue, but put in this thread because it might be related, also see system specs in first post. I was gonna add a screenshot, but dont think its nessecary. Regulus snipe lvl 5 description says it has a 3% chance of stopping an enemy dead in its tracks for 0 seconds. What is the real time for effect supposed to be?
1- What is the largest map size that will be made (custom Mods?) ? Historically, I always chosen map size based on how long of a game I want. Adds very much to replayability of most games I feel.
Thanks highlander. Was that a random install problem?
Honestly, this game reminds me alot of the play style of Dungeon Keeper 2, that was referred to as a RTS mainly because there were so many options in the game and things to do. Its actually one of my favorite games. Too bad we can't slap our minions around to make them fight harder. Seriously, DK2 would be a good reference game to gather fun ideas to apply to this one. Also, great work so far Stardock! Some ideas for genre titles I had were: TPS - Thi
I just tried that, it didn't fix the issue. Its like the files aren't loading.
Just downloaded GC and GC:DA to a new computer and use Impulse to run the game. I can start a campaign game without problem, but whe I create a skirmish game it crashes at loading screen. The debug.err is below, any thoughts? (I'm sorry, it won't let me single space the list) and whats with all those no files found lines??? I had an old driver from June, just updated last night to the newest one. Played twice no problems so far. seems like that was it.
Seems to happen at random times. Mid-game sound is normal but video crashes to make the screen look like "tv snow" but with horizontal lines in it (hard to explain). My system is: Core Quad 6600, ATI 4850HD (using DVI), 4 gb ram, vista 32 bit C:\work\forge\beta\code\src\libs\gpggal\VertexBufferD3D9.cpp(65) n/a Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd line arguments : Callstack:
I doubt it. Surely the rights to Dungeon Keeper are owned by a different company? Yea I think they are right now. Maybe Bulldog, if they're still around. But Stardock can always make an offer to buy those rights to make the sequel.
If you don't know were to put this question as it seem to not relate to GalCiv is to put it in the off-topic posts.. yes...thats why i put it here.
I was wondering if Stardock has any plans to make the game Dungeon Keeper 3. I heard a rumor somewhere saying that they might do it, if it gets done. Tell me where to ask if not here, again..sorry just curious.
Does advertising work? Maybe yes to an extent for the younger players, like age 12-20. The problem with advertising is that it is there to sell something (just the good info). I beleive consumers want to know the good and bad info before they buy. My opinion is in 2 parts: 1) The Present - Now, I am too skeptical about advertising to take any ad for face value. No magazine ad will ever make me by a game because I think there are politics involved with who gets good ra
I had this problem before. I have a Microsoft wireless keyboard and I found updating the drivers helped, and also replacing the batteries (to give it more power) or move the keyboard and the IR reciever closer together helps alot. I haven't seen that Y character since. I'm not sure what exactly fixed the problem, drivers / batteries or range. but its worth a try.
i like to submit games to the metaverse, not to compete, but to track my own game history. win lose i dont care, but its nice to know the games i play are recorded somehow and add up to an overall performance.
I had this happen to me once, very strange things indeed. I thought it was because I saved the game in an older version, then update the game, then reopened the game to play it. Is that what you did too?
Hate the autofocus, must be able to disable it.
