Apparently my e-mail did go through since I did get a response (hopefully future reponses will also get through). At the worst, I'll place a pre-order tomorrow, since I assume as soon as you place the pre-order you'll have access via Impulse, correct? (I've been waiting to check out Elemental for well over a year, only to be foiled by an old credit card #- grrrrr!) Also, I got this in the response: NOTICE: We are currently experiencing a delay in our normal respo

Did anyone else have their credit card charge fail? I imagine mine failed since it's likely my card changed from over a year ago when I initially placed the pre-order. Here's the problem, though- I used a 10% off coupon given to loyal Stardock customers. I'd be happy to place another order, but would like to still use that coupon. I e-mailed [email protected], but I'm not sure if it went through since we're having email server problems. Help! I want to p

These replies are sweet. Brad/Boogie- based on the creatively awesome responses here, could we have a caption contest or two during the beta? I could see that being awesome. Or, have a contest where you guys type up something and we provide the screenshots from the game? This was great. Once the beta is released it'll make my day even better!

Many games go fullscreen but when I hit the edge it goes to the next screen instead of scrolling. Quite annoying [/quote] Good point, piderman. [e digicons]k1[/e] I'm not sure if Elemental will support it, but being able to run it in Windowed mode and even being dual monitor-friendly would be great. I'd love to be able to take parts of the UI

That's a great breakdown of objectives. I hope adding in pieces at a time aren't terribly difficult to do, but if it's done modularly (and potentially with modding in mind), that shouldn't be too painful. Looking at this schedule, I'd be amazed if the game arrived before Fall of 2010. Having lots and lots of builds with a large pool of people, and still staying on pace would be impressive. If each sub-milestone took 1 week, that'd be about 25 weeks to complete, and t

Today seemed a bit too soon after PAX to have a release. If you could get it done before the weekend, that would be sweet, though. Get feeling better. I hope it's not H1N1!

Really? Why do you say it's today? I haven't seen anything that says it's today. There were allusions to it arriving prior to the 22nd and possibly this week, but was this said somewhere I missed?

Now that Impulse Phase 4 is released, and since there was confirmation elsewhere that the Beta will be out before the end of Summer (Sept. 22nd), it should be out in the next two weeks! [e digicons]:D[/e]

While there's more info on the Impulse website/client, I haven't found it as easy to navigate or find information. Also, it seems like the centered website looks much smaller when viewed inside of Impulse, whereas when viewing the site in a browser seems to take up much more of the screen's real estate (in a good way). While I liked the old site a bit better, you guys are headed in a good direction! That's sweet to know EA is on-board. Any chance Sega's Sports Intera

Being able to host games yourself is doubly-sweet- great bandwidth if you're just playing local friends and great for SD, too, as it won't consume their bandwidth. I seem to recall something about how all save games will be hosted by SD rather than stored locally. Would that be the case for self-hosted games? So, if I host a server, would each person need to login into Impulse/Elemental in order to access the game, or could they get it from my host? Or do they each m

Turns out I found an older thread on this issue: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/havok/topic/62220/ Doesn't sound too promising, though. Maybe SD has been able to get them to make 64-bit physics a priority (here's hoping, anyway)! I also found the old post that Brad mentions hoping for 64-bit support. At least the game engine is 64-bit even if physics isn't. https://forums.stardock.com/358643

I was wondering the same thing- has Intel gotten a 64-bit native version of Havok working yet? (I hope this doesn't make a native 64-bit game impossible). According to the Purchase page, it will be 64-bit native: https://www.elementalgame.com/purchase.asp So, maybe it will be possible. Cross your fingers, anyway!

Bummer. I should know better than get my hopes up! I'm sure there's plenty to do in preparation for the madness that will be the beta. Thanks for chiming in, Zoomba!

I'd like to see the exact same scene with and without lighting changes. To be honest, I can't tell much of a difference since they both look good. The second one looks a bit better, but the scene is different and seems to have better graphics generally.
